My 67 Chevelle Sema car...made mine.

Well, a long story and it still isn’t quite finished yet but I bought a former Sema car that I’ve been working to “make mine” for about 4 years now. The good thing is that I have been driving it along the way and actually drove it from the west coast back to Toronto where I bought it. The hard work was done in terms of the C6 integration and the complex bodywork. It was a 138 code car that was chopped, widened, raked and shaved to accept the C6 Gear and chassis. The C6 chassis was chopped and lengthened 16” to fit to the body. It came with an amazing upgraded suspension but No power and custom interior that needed to be changed. It also was spooky and looked like a riviera. It was maroon red and had a phantom grill and a light bar across the back for lights as the original set up was deleted.

Once home, I gutted the front end, cut out for stock rear lights, and brought the front and back to a stock look. The rear was widened so stock light bezels would not work and I had to scan the rear and 3D print “stock look” ones to fit.
Then for the engine and exhaust upgrade.
I selected a magnuson Blower. After some advice here, because it’s an LS2 apparently the heads would not conduct high flow induction properly so I installed AFR heads. Installed an LS9 Cam so that it was not too aggressive but could match the new set up. I then added a Kenne Bell fuel delivery set up to handle the need for increased flow demand. Then, I added Kooks long tube headers and Fabbed up the H pipe and sent it too the existing Magnaflows. I then had a buddy tune it properly to have it all singing from the same song book. I then upgraded the stock T-56 to a T-6060 and upgraded the rear ending to match as it is now a beefier 30 spline setup to handle the new power. So the entire set up is better than Z51 performance. She’s a heavy girl so it’s now perfect in the performance regard. Not too snaky but can thrash almost anything on the street and handles like a Lambrogini. I love how this thing really messes with people’s heads. When you are outhandling the Porsche behind you in the off ramps/ and twisties and then out running the kids in the stangs and the Hellcats. I’ve seen some funny expressions. It’s great.
Ive chosen a Mazda slate blue colour and changed the 10 ton stock hood for a light weight one with a 2” rise which accommodates the blower perfectly. I changed the seats to Ferrari 458 seats and added some snake skin and saddle to the interior. Like I said it’s not done yet but I am very proud of it and I’m glad I was able to drive it whilst doing the work, save for some months where the big stuff was being done.

I hope you like it. I sure do.

Great looking 67. How much is it chopped? You are on Lake Huron, are you in Michigan?

Tighten it till it strips & back it off a quarter turn.

I am in Canada. Just west of Toronto. My lake house is on the Canadian side north of Grand bend.

I will get some more pics including some of the underneath as requested.

I believe the roof was chopped 3/4” I haven’t actually measured. The glass is flush mounted.

I’m taking the steering wheel off as we speak to exchange it to a C7 wheel. Way more attractive but it will take some more fabrication.

I really am super glad I did it this way because I have had a major part in making it mine but I didn’t suffer with it for 2-5 years while building it. I have a lot of respect for the guys and stand in awe of those who have the stamina and the passion to “figure it all out” and do the ground up build but for me, if I did that, I don’t think I could have completed the car. I would certainly be divorced, and I already taught myself some pretty exotic swear words on this project.

      Standby for more pics.

Beautiful looking car, and a credit to you for the subtle changes to make it look sort of stock.

The piece in the Back is a splitter. The car is a two seater. Behind the front seats is the gas tank and major stereo equipment.

thank you for recognizing, although it wasn’t near the work that I have seen here with the ground up builds and my preferences aren’t for everyone, this was a ton of work to get it to this point. There is just a little left to do.

I discover things that the guys did that built this car all the time. It’s pretty cool. rockers are dropped and formed beautifully to and aft the wheel wells.

it looks great, power galore and handles like a Lambo.

west Coast customs built this car.

The stance and everything else on that ride looks perfect!! I can see why you hunted after it and are making it perfect now. The inside is wild too!

Thanks Man. You are right. It had all the bones I was looking for to work with.

It has the characteristics of an old floater when you are cruising down the highway but the transforms into a full on race car when you want to get down. It is a perfect car. Now I just need the snow to disappear

I have to get under the car at some point. I’m travelling quite abit right now. For some reason, some of my fabrication pics and motor tear down pics I can’t load from here.

the gas Tank is C6 Corvette. The Chassis and running gear is all C6 corvette so it is ahead of the rear wheels and it is boxed in so you can’t see it.
