      Tire help

Im looking at which tires to buy for my firebird. The car will be used for street driving and of course the occasional spirited driving. The rims will be 18x8 fronts and 18x9.5 in the rear. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

You could go with BFGoodrich Rival S tires. I have read good feedback about their performance. Another option is Falken RT615 tires if am not mistaken.

Those are all good tires for street.
The Rival S are great but pretty sticky and will throw up rocks and such.. Plus they're not phenomenal in the rain. The ones above are good all around tires.

The Michelin Pilot Sport Super Sports are the best street tire currently available. I'd highly recommend them. A 235/40/18 and a 275/40/18 wouldn't be too pricy since they are OEM tires.

I've been looking at 18" options as well. A lot of shorter (sub 26") tires, but i would like to maintain close to my current 26.5" od. 275/40/18 does that, and 245/45/18. My car is too low i dont want it to,drop more. lol. I might just need to bite the bullet and change the springs and bring her up a bit. Mostly street with hopefully some autox. Rivals dont seem like a good street call. Damn decisions!

Get a super high performance tire. Our old cars need help with handling and braking. In the long run you will be glad you spent some extra money.
