      Flywheel question

I'm running a LSX 454 in my 67 camaro. I have a LS9 clutch that I want to install and wanted to ask if anyone had any experience doing this and if so what flywheel did you use? The LSX has a 8 bolt crank and the LS9 clutch and LS9 flywheel won't line up. My Chevy guy said a LSA flywheel would work but he also told me the LS9 flywheel would work.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
      Kris

      Flywheel question

I'd call McLeod and see if they have or can build you something.

Hello... For what it's worth... I used a set-up from American Powertrain on my LSX 454 in a 71 Camaro. The sell an 8 bolt flywheel that takes a standard 11" clutch.

I tried the LSA clutch and it ended up being too thick for my set-up (would have to have spaced the bellhousing out to use the hyd throw out bearing), and I was a little concerned about the dual mass clutch...

      Kris,

What transmission and bellhousing are you using? Also, how do you like the LSX454?

it's a T56 magnum and quicktime bellhouseing. the car is still being built so can't comment on the lsx454 yet, hopefully soon though.

My favorite trick with the Magnum is to replace the front plate with a bellhousing from a CTSV. it's about $250 and I believe it gives you a front pump and more room for a stock LSA dual disk clutch.
