Just out of curiosity have you done anything to mitigate fuel slosh in the factory tank or is it not necessary with the Fantom fuel system ?

It does have a built in sump that the yellow foam sits down in. Everyone I have talked to that does auto-x and track events have been very happy with the results. We'll let you know in a few weeks!

The wagon is all buttoned up and we're on the road trip to Vegas for SEMA and the optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.

Lots of overall improvements to the car, but one that we are the most excited about is putting the original fuel tank back in with the Aeromotive Phantom fuel system installed. Just a nicely packaged deal but one of the best parts is going back to the quarter panel fuel fill location. With the old Aeromotive fuel cell we had cut a hole in the cargo compartment floor for fill access (late 2012) and had always planned to come up with a better fill plan. Problem solved!

Ha, we laughed about that too. It was a catalog from 2009 and we think it may have been the first one we ever looked at. Wow

Still trying to get caught up on the upgrades. Here are some pictures of the new Magnaflow exhaust system. As we were installing it we were really unhappy with how low it had to be due to the crossmember being so far from the floor of the car (stock). Like everything else, we were running out of time so I made the decision to just get it installed and we would make some modifications when we returned from SEMA/OUSCI and Scottsdale. Once we took the car off the blocks we realized that the exhaust was really tucked up pretty well. So, when we get home we will just replace the clamps that came with it with some Vibrant V-Band clamps and weld everything up. Bottom line, Deb drove the car on the highway from the speedway to the convention center and was thrilled with the way it purred with the new exhaust and how she wasn't dying of fumes like she was with the hole in the cargo area and the exhaust dumping out before the axle.

      Old and new.

Dumps out just behind the tires.

After the first test drive we realized that rubber clamps at the mufflers weren't going to be enough because with any kind of bumps in the road it was clunking. These additional "hard" clamps came with the kit also.

The welding that we have done was done with MIG with stainless wire. TIG is in the future, but not yet...

      Side view shows the clearance.

Alright, this is one of the coolest things that has probably ever happed with the wagon. The 2014 Pro-Touring.com SEMA dinner T-shirts have Deb's wagon on them. Deb always makes cookies to pass out during the events and Chad Reynolds has dubbed her the "cookie lady". Note the cookies flying out of the wagon. What a great honor for our family!!!!

Just picked up a set of GM Performance Parts Fast Burn heads for the wagon. I think this normally takes the ZZ4 from 355 HP to 385 HP but the new ZZ5 uses a ZZ4 short block with the new Fast Burn heads with beehive springs to make right at 400HP and pretty fair torque. So, obviously we're ordering the parts to convert them...

I had a DSE gift certificate that just had to be used, so we used that as an excuse to upgrade the steering box on the wagon. The old AGR box went to my friend's 66 Chevelle project where it will be well used.

This is kind of silly, but we hate things that rust so we figured out the size of the nut and washer and replaced them with stainless...
