We've been burning the midnight oil trying to get the wagon back on the road & track. Here's a few picture updates.

DSE heater delete panel. We drilled it under the fender for the heater and A/C lines.

Engine set in place before we started hooking things up.

Rear mounted battery in the spare tire well. Used the battery tray/hold down that we built before.

My wiring expert Sam working on making the aftermarket harness work with the Holley system, the Dakota Digital system and the Vintage Air controls. Deb's doing something important in the engine compartment, I just don't know what...

Vintage Air front runner ready to be installed.

Front Runner installed. This is our third one and they all have been engineered to perfection. I was a little worried with the engine set back but all works great.

Here's the brake and clutch assembly. Thanks to Aaron (65 LS1 T56) for sending me his amazing bracket. Awesome!!!

The RobbMC sending unit, powder coated factory tank and the weirdness (needs to be rearranged) I put together to mount the filters and pump. Before you start giving us a hard time about the filters, just know we had them on the shelf from past projects...

Very well worn dash with Dakota Digital VHX system and Vintage Air controls mounted in a radio delete plate.

It has felt really good turning wrenches on the wagon. Projects never go as quickly as you think they should though! Unfortunately the wagon is not making the voyage to GG Columbus. But, we have it registered for MotorState so the midnight oil will be burning next week to finish it up. I will hopefully be driving it before then to work out some of the kinks that we know it will have!

Fell behind on updates, but we did get things together enough to make the trip to the Motor State Challenge. Here are some pictures to bring things up to date.

We replaced the old "metric" rear brakes with C4 calipers and the drilled and slotted 12" rotors that came off our 66.

      Deb building the plug wires.

      Sam working on wiring.

      Yes, Deb is a HILLBILLY!!!

I'm starting to wonder if I did any work on the project...

New Dakota Digital VHX dash installed.

      Rear BFG Sport Comp 2's

Once the new driveshaft was installed we realized that the tunnel under the rear seat needed to be raised too. Deb used the plasma cutter to cut out the old tunnel and then formed the sheet metal for the new one.

We needed a shift handle and I had a nice piece of surplus military curved aluminum sitting around. I still can't believe I was able to cut it on the bandsaw and successfully thread it. We also had this cool shifter boot that Sam picked up used last year. Sure it was for his car but we can get another one by the time he needs it...

Still more progress pictures to share, but the bottom line is that we trailered it up to Motor State (Sam and I drove the 66). We bled the brakes, changed oil and checked the timing Friday so it would be ready for Saturday and Sunday. Deb drove it hard both days and had a blast!

I guess the tranny's working alright? I never did hear if you reused my old flywheel or if you resurfaced or replaced it. I'm glad to see an action shot and still want a ride at RTTH! I'll be there with my 68 behind my new/used 03 crew cab 2500HD.
