How? Are you saying he couldnt get it to hook at all on the street with a little bit of chassis tuning? Regardless of that, hes still the fastest proven streetcar in the world.

Street racing with that kind of power is just plain careless ..
they did it on a "track" - well it was an airstrip but either way it was a closed environment.

im saying racing on the street and racing at the track is 2 totally different things.Just because larson can run in the 6's at teh track dont think for 1 sec he will do it on the street.Oh and larson better watch out,my buddy Luts is coming hard for him this year with that bad black 57

only 1 way to find out but we both know it will never happen.not taking anything away from larry, his car is bad ass and he is a nice guy which i have met on several occasions, but like i have said, racing on a prepped track and racing on the street with a lil pimp juice sprayed on it is totally different.

So I have watched a few shows now, and one thing eeally bothers me. They always say if they were to cause an accident and somebody died that they would get manslaughter. They dont seem bothered by the fact that somebody may lose their life but more what charges would be brought against them.

The worst thing is.. They arent racing on open streets.. Have you noticed that they keep looking for new locations to run, and then they show that they find a new location and are measuring it out, only to run on the same Closed Airport Road they always do? Watch all the episodes, and you will always see the same fencing running beside the road, along with the seamed concrete looking pavement.. LOL

I hope that if someone actually gets hurt during street racing somewhere in this Country, they sue Discovery for glorifying something that has had alot of work dedicated to slow it down. Hell, they arent even doing what they say they are, and they are making what they arent really doing look cool, and I see a major issue with that..

      1/8 mile is a joke.
The rule is measure twice and cut once. My problem is I still measure with a mic and cut with an axe!

Big crowds and huge film crews with lights that could be seen for miles around.... Very covert... FAKE....

Hard enough to do that stuff without attracting attention..... Add all those lights etc and people.....and no cops showing up... I call BS.... Just like moonshiner s....

Like said before, i find it funny that all these cars show up in huge stenciled trailers to race. As a street racer, wouldnt you want to hide if the police came? Hows that going to happen with a 35' gooseneck ha. Also, some of these cars should try and get in on drag week. I wonder how many would legitimately make it through the week without huge problems.

whel 1/8th is all ya got ya race.
I think NHRA going 1000 ft is BS. 1/4 is 1/4. Heck they used to race on 1/2 mile tracks, but times and amount of room changes. Local track to me the original owner, Speed Wise, went to a race, came home and started a track. In 90 I built a $400 car, drove my $500 61 F100 Unibody long bed, pulled dads $300 made out of pipe and trailer axle stock car trailer, Had a ball, wound up in top 8 run off.
Even hit Terre Haute before big run off.
Would up putting that 76 Skyhawk w/327 on street for winter.
Now I am building a BBC 84 2dr Caprice and a 283 FI/twin ebay turbo 77 Monza and gonna pro tour.
I remember street racing my 69 Pontiac Executive first with the 428 then a 400 on bad side of Chi Town. Bad area of Chicago, ran 4,5,8,10 blocks anywhere from $50 on up longer was more cash. My car was better on longer races. Made and lost cash. Was short trip up 65 north from Indy back in mid 80s while going to LTI. Replaced that body with a 69 Ventura, poor thing wasting away in my yard, would figure car would have sold quicker.
Oh well with current job tenuous and all I may be better off or worse off here soon.

While Larry's car is amazing and is what I believe to be one of the greatest hot rods ever built, it did what it did on a track that would peel the shoes from your feet. Applying legit 4 digit power on street concrete is a different animal alltogether. Do not confuse them. The marriage between ignition timers and boost management versus magical chassis work is something that takes years to make work on a street car. Forget whether or not you care for the show, the drama, the principal or whatever else some you guys are all crying about..............it's a show with fast cars on it. Get over it. Sheesh. I didn't realize there were so many "Two and a Half Man" fans here.

I see were still fighting over the "reality " of this crap show I don't know what is more of a joke the show or guys on here becoming keyboard warriors over yeah well Dave is faster then billy is on the street and tommy brother cousin knows a guy who's dad is building a car next year and it's going to beat everyone at the track.....my god guys go back and read this.....who cares really...? hot rod magazine does a fastest street car shootout....those cars are the fastest ones in America, and yes every car will he faster at a track then on the street just based on surface prep, everything on the show is crap and lies... om the cars are fast but that's it....every other bit of it is fake. i would hope that we can all come together and agree street racing is stupid and dangerous, the show is fake and quite ridiculous. Hope with any luck it's cancelled. Why not spend the hour working on your stuff rather then watch the show. I watch 2 episodes shown on discovery here in Canada and yep just as I thought when I saw the previews....s...t pure s..t
