      1987 Porsche 944 LS2 redo

Starting a new thread on a build I am re-doing. I bought the car from a guy down in Georgia and lets say after getting the car it was less than perfect. The guy that originally did the swap (LS2) made his own parts and they pretty much fell apart under my use. The guy that owned the car before me made what he thought were improvements but lets just say they were less than par... LOL! For instance, the motor mounts had rubber between the mount and the motor and quickly gave in causing the motor to bump into the side rail on the body and shook the car terribly... Also, the guy built a bracket using a u bolt to hold the master cylinder in place. It caused the master to leak and I would then have to re bleed the sytem over and over... (so thats why the guy had the speed bleeder in the trunk along with a bottle of brake fluid!)

Then as my luck would have it I ended up driving the car into a flooded street at night when I couldn't see the water in front of me... By the time I turned the car off it was to late, causing the motor to hydrolock. That was the straw that broke the camels back...

So now my goal is to completely redo it. The damage was to the motor only, but I want this car to be something special. The plan is a complete suspension overhaul with Elephant Racing and Racers Edge Bearings and Bushings. Along with a new rear carrier fabricated by a guy named Bruce over on www.rennlist.com, Complete coil over suspension, new radiator and fans so that it stays cool on the track, 997 GT3 6 piston brake calipers, redo the interior carpet with the rear seats being deleted, and a complete repaint in Grabber Blue. That is really the tip of the iceberg on this thing, but it gives you an idea...These pics are what the car looked like when I bought it... Minus the wheels. These photos are very misleading mind you... The car looks really nice here. And yet I discovered that body parts were cut, sprayed with a matched spray paint etc... It was pretty bad.

The pics below are after I made some improvements with bigger meat and the GT2 flares.
