Great news the GTO is finished!
Just kidding, Happy April Fools Day!

Have only had a small break in between jobs that pay the bills to get some work done.
Was able to Cad up a Sanden SD7 compressor and drop it in my assembly to test fit with the custom motor mounts.

Happy with the minimum 3/4" clearance, so I picked up a set of Dirty Dingo mounts. They are made well and have the 3 positions to work with the different belt offsets.

Had to cut and re-weld lower bracket to move tensioner away from steering rack fitting.

Hey Andrew, Would love to hear it fire up soon, its been so frustrating having it so close to turning the key. Next I need to research then grab an engine harness, LS3 intake, throttle body, injectors and have the ECM programmed.
I have been looking at this harness.

My buddy Brian used a PSI harness, and no complaints. However, there is nothing like being in charge of your own tuning. He has since converted to a Holley Dominator system. You can use a HP...or if you want DWB, do the Dominator. If you are starting from scratch, the HP is really not that much more money. You will just have to get a 4 bolt cable TB.

      Wiper Motor

Was able to finish up the bracket for mounting the new Wiper Motor (ACDELCO 88958170) today, its these little things that take forever!
Combined the new splined wiper arm with the old one so it will work with the stock wiper mechanism.

Some better shots of the AC compressor.

Does that wiper motor have "park?"

Hi Andrew, Yes it has a park feature, going to need to go junkyard shopping for the harness and switch. Probably should have just bought the kit from Detroit Speed!

On the harness and ECM I would love to learn how to do some tuning with the Holley system someday.
I'll keep it in mind when I am shopping this spring.

Are you sure it has park? I think that style of motor needs a parking mechanism on the arm because the rotation axis of the motor can't shift like the original motor did. That how it works on the 4th gen Camaro motor in my Chevelle.

      Hi David,

I had an article bookmarked on my computer that just quit a while ago. I could be mistaken but I thought it had an internal feature to know where park was, its been a long time since I read the article.
Will look and see if I can find it again. Maybe someone with better wiper knowledge can let me know.

Here is the same wiper motor running, without the big park cam on the Camaros and Monte Carlos.

Unless I'm missing something, there's no way for that motor to park the wipers. The original motor worked by moving the shaft which pulled the wipers down. The park cam on the newer motors works by shortening the lever arm which also pulls the wipers down. The Camaro motor runs backwards for about a quarter turn after the wipers are shut off which causes the cam to collapse itself.

Hi David, I think you are talking about the recessed park feature? Yeah I will have to figure that out later, sorry for any confusion. Its on my to do list just down near the bottom.

Oh sorry, I figured that's what Andrew had asked about. If you end up wanting to add recessed park let me know and I'll get you some more detailed pictures.

Refurbished 12200411 Drive By Cable GM PCM

Have only been able to get to the GTO once in a while, not much to report.
Working on laying out gauges and components using the 69 Impala dash that needed three inches sectioned out of it width wise.
Picked up a 411 drive by cable computer from BP Automotive.
Thinking about mounting it under dash, in console right in front of shifter on top of trans tunnel, will make sure to insulate (both sides) really well to keep it from getting too hot, plus I plan on leaving an inch or more for an air gap below it. Could always mount a computer fan behind it too.

      Sparco Seats

Still working on interior, trying to get the dash layout where I like it and figured I need the seats and new steering wheel to get the layout right.

      Exhaust

Bought a 3" 409 Stainless exhaust kit from Mandrel Bending Solutions.
SpinTech 300 Series Mufflers, was looking at side exit but it will be easier to get an inspection sticker out the back.

      Happy 4th!

Hey thanks for checking in, not much for major updates, same old story working too much! Although I have been buying parts.
Finished layout on dash, need to buy gauges next.
