Yeah, same color. Well, except for the accent color on the hood, which used to be gloss carbon. I'd like to do a satin charcoal gray this time around.

Pretty good I'd guess. If not I will be calling on Doug to come down and use some of his panel gap spray. As for the hood, that is another story. It will probably take another 30 pack deposit into the cooler to get that thing right. It was kind of warbley to begin with and all of that welding exacerbated the problem.

Speaking of the cooler - I wanted to stock it with some Stone Brewery Beer from down the street, (make a stop if you're local and like beer) but was told that that would be like poison. Apparently BOS runs exclusively on Budlight. Now I know how Steve can afford to have them change his engines instead of oil.

D!ck sent these over and wanted me to post up. I hope you guys aren't tired of pictures. Jon painted some of the smaller parts and jams/sides today. Currently the engine is over at Turnkey. They are going to make sure it is fine after the accident, and throw on some ported heads to wake the LS2 up a little.

Looks to me like you guys are making some serious headway! Only a couple more updates and you'll have a complete car.

I think I may have to copy the louvers on your hood. Not only do they look sweet, but they're functional to boot!

I know I said it before but that hood is going to look awesome Matt. Can't believe how much has been accomplished on the car already--very cool. So run down what's left---front sub, mount the rearend, final bodywork and paint (big stuff only here). I'm sure the things like getting the new pedals actually working, running new lines, etc will make for a much longer list. Keep us posted---will look forward to SEMA and seeing you and the car there.

Yeah, you've got a pretty complete list there. Tomorrow we put the subframe in, then **** starts hanging metal on the front, after that it gets any necessary spot priming, then paint. The rear end is over at Speedway and might be another week depending on what Speedway has to out source. The hardlines shouldn't be too time consuming since the bulk of the lines are going to be reused. There's a ton that I'm leaving out, but I don't want to scare myself by remembering anymore right now.

Doug, I know you might find it hard to believe, but not everyone is a celebrity like yourself, nor does everyone want to be a celebrity. I don't have a 50 page thread about myself over on Lat-g like you do, and I because of that can't quite manage to look cool while doing something retarded. Maybe next week I'll post the picture.

Today was a nice short day at the shop. We put the subframe in, normally a simple process, but one which we complicated beyond belief.

Whoever can point out everything wrong with the below picture might just get a free bro-touring shirt, if we decide to make shirts this year.


I found a nice set of rollers just lying around to use today. Oh and take a minute to admire the sweet stance, there's a little rake on the car:




D!ck will hang the fenders and part of the front tomorrow, then it goes into the paint booth. Jon should be laying down color Tuesday or Wednesday

1. the beer was in the fridge still.
2. the beer comes out after at least some work is accomplished for added incentive. When the car is done there might even be a ceremonial opening of the mason jar containing some "Tennessee Ground Water," which tastes peculiarly like applesauce. Gregg, (Gandalf) knows what I'm talking about. Doug might still have memories of that stuff from RTTC. Then again maybe not
3. There are three of us working. Two of us are supervising.
4. We know where the rest of the parts are, and they're not at the shop...

John, I'm not going to attempt to reply to your list. I'm afraid you might have seen into the future, which would be very disconcerting.
