      I got a Job!

      WOOOT!

I know most didn't even know that'd I'd joined the many that lost their jobs due to the economy, I'd kept it on the DL, cause frankly, I was ashamed of it. My wife and I both lost our jobs, and our home in back in Feb. We'd had to move in with my dad, who's having a pretty hard time getting around now due to his age and illness (parkinsons) So I decided to try and find work in my home town of Yuba City.

Yuba City if you didnt know just won the dubious honor of being voted the worst place in the US to live. Mainly due to the insane unemployment rate. So, trying to find a job in this town is downright impossible. But, as fate would have it, I not only found a job, but the best possible job i could ever hope to find for my skill set. I work for the county. Taking care of county housing. Im really excited and happy about it and had to share. Miracles do happen. Stay positive and good things happen. My family SO needed the benefits that come with a county job.

So, thanks for reading, I just had to tell somebody!

hey losing a job is not embarrassing at all I lost a company 8 years ago! after a year I had to go to work for anyone that would pay, 1 year ago I re started a new company! I guess if I could start one in a down economy and make it work, I will do great when the economy is better!

      Congratulation Tony!

You should not be ashamed of the economy putting the screws to you and the wife. It does not reflect on you personally. Now with the benefits you can take care of the family with more security along with being close to your Dad to help him just when he needs it. Sometimes it takes time but things always seem to work out for the best. Hope the improving luck follows your family for awhile.

      This.

      Tony,
There is no shame in losing a job as a result of economic conditions. Sometimes it's just a matter of headcount vs revenue.

Good on you for doing the right things to take care of your family. Truly a display of the manly arts.

Congratulations Tony. Definitely one of the better feelings in life when that call comes with good news. I was there last year as well and as difficult as it is, keeping your head up for your family's sake is very admirable.

Great to hear Tony! I lost my job last July, out of the blue. Luckily I was only out of a job for 3 weeks (got lucky...), it was the most tense 3 weeks. Glad to hear things are on the up and up!
