      Rear springs... would you replace??

I am putting together a 72 Ford Maverick. I am ready to rebuild the complete rear suspension. New rear, new shocks, new shackles and urethane bushings. I am going to be installing a CalTracs set up as well.

My question is about the leaf springs is, how bad would it be to blast and repaint the original springs? The new springs are around $300 bucks that I have so many other places to put. I know most of you would automatically replace with new springs. I however can't spend the money that a lot of you are putting into your cars. I could always do it later on, but for now I would like to fly with what I have.

      Thoughts and suggestions??

Re-using them would be fine IMO. As long as there in good shape.

They don't sag and are in good shape. Nothing a quick sand blast and new paint wouldn't fix anyway.

      Thanks,

They are almost 40 years old.... I would get new ones while I had everything apart.
