      The Future of Hot Rodding???

Jessie James breaks land speed record in Hydrogen powered car.
I thought they meant it was a fuel cell vehicle, but this might hold promise.

lol yes he is but that's pretty cool he was able to go so fast. Didn't Ford or Saturn set a record recently with one of their production cars that was a hybrid or alternative fuel. I know, real precise explanation but still, I know this isn't the first speed run in America by an alternative fuel vehicle.

by an alternative fuel? No. There's been a slew of E85 runs lately. Many high perf deisel ones too.

His is for Hydrogen. There was a hydrogen streamliner built by the U of Ohio I think. I wanna say they went faster than 200 though... I could be wrong. There was a TV show about them

indeed i was right. The buckeye bullet went 272

But the hydrogen is in fuel cells. Running an electric motor.

It has since gone well over 300 mph.

agreed. She's a decent looking woman. Compared to Jessie's LAST wife? She's a dog.

Jessie's last wife had seen more "richards" than an airport urinal.

I met Ms. Bullock in Hawaii. She is a very bright, interesting and attractive woman. More of a GND type, which I prefer as opposed to the uber-plastic dye-job synthetic women that are more often touted as "hot".

Ok guys, it's gone a little off topic. I don't care who did it. The technology is awesome.
I thought it was cool they essentially converted a GM 572 BB to burn hydrogen instead of gas. If the emissions are zero, that'd mean our internal combustion powered hot rods could live well into the future!

Not here to start a Jesse James thread. But he is the man. Met him few years ago in Daytona. You may not like his tv personality. In real life he was super nice and down to earth. Even with some of the past shows goofy antics I still think he is great.

Yup, this thread made a right bannana. Cool technology. I'm hoping something saves the internal combustion engine.

ummmm CNG cars create zero emissions and are essentially normal IC engines with different fuel delivery also. They've been around for well over a decade now. The only thing he's done different is used hydrogen instead of NG and gone fast. CNG V8s have plenty of power normally too. The downside to CNG is fueling in the cold isn't easy and the gas gauge is severely affected by the outside temperature. Many city bus fleets are powered by CNG.

Thanks Tony. Last night while laying in bed I remembered it was a Ford Fusion I was thinking of. It's a fuel cell car powering an electric motor though. The kids at OSU had a hand in it as well.
