I'm sorry Tony, marketing videos aside, I have a friend with an Instinct and it is a clunky piece of hardware. The Instinct might have had a speed advantage against the older iPhone that used the Edge network. I am sure that is exactly what the video is showing. With the new 3G iPhones the speed difference is a non issue. Also keep in mind that the 3G network is not available everywhere. I live in Bowling Green, KY, and there is no 3G here. My iPhone works fine with the Edge network and my friends Instinct is no faster, since it is forced to use the same network.

Here in sac, the instinct is MUCH faster still than the iphone. We've done some side by side comparisons. Sites like fark, Cnn, and youtube load much faster. But I'll concede that the browser is deplorable. They say they're fixing it and version 2.0 that comes out on aug 15 is supposed to be better. We'll see. sending picture and video messages is nice too. Not a deal breaker for some Iphone people, but it really irks my friend who swears by his apple stuff. The resolution is higher on the iphone, movies look slightly better. the transitions between screens are smoother on iphone. But overall, for the price, The instinct wins in my book, hands down, Why pay more and get less?

I had switched over to a basic phone not to long ago, but after using my Blackberry for work, I wanted something nice again. I have no regrets at this time, very cool. I hope I never lose it, but this is very helpful info if I do!

So, the consensus is the Instinct, and the I phone. Anyone have comparasions (Non biased!) against the VU? I am asking about that one mainly because it is the one that they are trying to push. But that is prolly because that is the one they have in stock right now! But it is cheaper! LOL

That's strange. They wouldn't work for me at home but they're now working for me at work.

Looks like a pretty cool phone. I wish I could have a cool phone. You don't know how hard it is to try and find a phone these days that doesn't have a camara on it and how depressing it is when you see what you're getting. The phone I have now is just pathetic.

Once in a great great while I need to check the web from my phone. Trying to view websites on my Samsung i760 phone is a PIA. Most websites don't format properly, so it's hard to view the content on the web page + the pages load super slow (Verizon). Some websites have a "mobile" version with less graphics and they are formatted to fit on mobile screens and still be readable, those work fairly well.

My GF's iPhone works sooo much better for viewing the web. The web pages load faster and when the page does load, zooming in and out + scrowling up, down, left or right is literaly as simple as a flick of the finger. You can also open multiple web pages at once and switch between which one is active, just like your PC.

I don't have a big need to view the web from my phone, so it's not a deal breaker for me. But if you are one of those people who do need access to the web 24/7, the iPhone is a cool gadget.

agreed. the iphone's browser is untouchable on the mobile phone market at least until Skyfire takes over the world, and it will, because it OWNS. If the net on your phone is important to you at all, check that link. You'll be stunned, shocked and amazed. This guy is going to be SO rich.

Sony Ericsson has the X1 video phone coming out soon. I have the W810i and getting on the internet is pretty easy, but not near the level of an i-Phone.

Did you set this up on your Instinct Tony? If so how do you like it? The only issue I have at this point (my POV) with the Instinct is the video and camera, alittle to grainy for my taste.

Here is a cool little app for the iPhone that may make it a little more enticing for you. http://dynolicious.com/ It uses the built in accelerometer to make the phone act like a g-tech or other similar device. They want $12.99 for it.

No. Skyfire is not available for the instinct yet. Only windows mobile phones. Like smartphones and blackberries.

I just upgraded my w810i to an iPhone. I'm completely in love w/ it so far. It's just sooo easy to use, navigate, the App Store has tons of free stuff, and even the stuff you have to pay for isn't very expensive ($5-10 mostly, a lot for $0.99). I like how it uses WiFi if available. probably the best surprise for me was the Pandora Radio app. It's basically like satellite radio, customized for you, and its all free. just eats batteries.

anyway, you'll probably be happy with either. just seems to be a lot more support around for iPhone.
