Here it is. Note the "High rise, double pump carburetor and loose distributer" (her words not mine.) shown here.

That scene pulled me right outta the movie.
yep we had a good laugh about that too... did you like the scene where the bumble bee Camaro wacked the yellow bug...that was classic.

So what induction set-up is that? I thought it was Webers but it's supposed to be an Edelbrock FI.

I just got back from seeing it myself, and let me tell you they got everything down to a tee! growing up watching this cartoon and then seeing it played out on the big screen was awesome they even got optimus primes' signature phrase..."Autobots, roll out!" There is more but I don't want to spoil it.

We saw it last night also. While the Transformers were a little out of my age group I thought the movie was great. Nice story line. Excellent effects. Good characters all around. A must see...

all I can say is wow. Action from start to finish. I was glad to see that there were several lines pulled from the orginal movie.

The induction setup on Bumblebee was a set of Weber 48s on what looked like a Moon crossram. She called it a high rise with a double pumper, the nerd in me cringed- but the movie still ripped.

      Solid A movie.

He knocked that bug two feet to the right. I LOL'd. Way to put a nail in the whole "bumble bee is supposed to be a yellow bug" argument Michael Bay. The car salesman's momma flipping him off was hilarious too.

Ended up going today. Great movie! Loved the action and graphics. There were a few cheesey parts, but not too many. GM was all over the place and if you were paying attention, it was a bit of commercial overload. But it worked, I gotta get me one of those new Camaro's!!

I will go see it again!

It was insane, I still have the original vhs of the cartoon movie from the early 80's. some of the lines between optimus and megatron were straight from the original. I can wait to see it again. but yea, when she was under the hood and said the crap. I let out an verbal WTF?

I HATE to admit it.. but the movie really made the old 74 Camaro pretty damn cool..

..and i hate to admit it more that i actually liked it more than the new camaro in the movie..

and the hating of admiting even more..

I ACTUALLY THINK THAT THE CAMARO WAS A BETTER CHOICE THAN A VW BUG...

      there i said it..

even if i wanted it to be a bug..

They'd be INSANE not to offer a "bumblebee" version of the new camaro. Transformers 2 will come out in summer of 09. Think about the promotions. If it is indeed offered in that color combo, I'll buy one. (I'm buying one either way.)

Glad I'm not the only one that flipped out during the engine sequence. I just started laughing.

The headers on his double pumpers were pretty nice, though. If he just tightened up that distributor cap, I bet that old z would scream!

The rest of the movie was absolutely perfect, though. Exactly what a transformer movie should have felt like, despite the detail changes.

      I did. LOL

BTW, I thought it was a 76. Not a 74. Back window is a giveaway it is not a 74.

      Oh yeah, and this:

I really can't hold that line against the movie, I don't expect movies to get stuff right. And my 77 doesn't turn into a giant robot, so I assume the rest of the movie it isn't historically correct LOL. Her saying double pumper works for me.

Concidence that the Camaro kicks the crap out of a mustang?

Saw it last night. I watched it as a kid and loved it. And I absolutely loved it last night. When Optimus Prime firs showed up, I thought hell yeah here we go. It has now become my favorite movie of all time. I will admit even for a Ford guy I thought the Camaro looked great. The Stang sounded awesome. And you gotta give props to the guy that drove the semi in all of those stunts, especially the 180 spin.

awesome awesome awesome. just saw it. and i was kinda wondering about the engine too, but i was too busy lookin to see if it was a march serpentine setup instead of looking at the induction. oh well, i'll look at it closer when i go again.
      and yeah, wow, she's hot.
i loved the way some of the robots transformed... sliding along the pavement using their hand to hold them up and then popping up, ready to fight. and all the military hardware... oh man, i was in heaven. hot girls, hot cars, guns, planes, etc.....
after all that, even if the story line was cheesy (which i didn't really think it was) i woulda loved it just for those reasons.
