I love this crap - no comments from the peanut gallery!
except one - that vintage style gold lettering was pretty cool.

      ok one more comment:
Why do we all care so much? Congrats to the Barry Family because you are on TV and I am not. I think the cars are cool - my car's pretty cool too. "I work for Barry" and I don't, but that's cool too. Could the show be better, maybe - but the Soprano's sucked this season - but they don't have a thread here. I think the track thing was fun, that would be cool to see more often. I hardly watch the show now but I caught the Nova one - that was cool. Good Luck!

The track thing definitely was cool. I think that would be a great addition to the show for every car. Take it to the track and run it through, and maybe take it through some cones or a road course, and do some 60 to zero times. That would really showcase the kind of builds Barry is doing.

We would love to take them to the track but with the insurance company that TLC uses, they won't let us. I think we are going to build another race car this coming season and I think we might be running it at............I ........................ummmm..............damn it.........I am going to get so busted for opening my mouth. I can hear it now from the producer.

IT SAYS IN YOUR CONTRACT, DON'T TALK ABOUT THE NEW CARS.

      wow

You know it would not be a big deal about the short cuts on TV if you did not have a good reputation. But when you ride on that reputation to get a Tv show and then do crap work that you would never do in real life on a customers car on natioanal TV, I have a difficult time having any simpathy for you. If you don't like the time crutch then don't do the show. I would never want to do the Job you guys do in a time crutch situation. The quality will never be there. It will always be ho-hum. But I guess Being on TV has Benefits ($$$$). I cannot imagine that the producers have agun to your head, maybe a contract, but don't sign it. UNLESS it is about the money.

The people who truly dig the car shows don't know much about the building of a car anyways so build on, they will never know. the most interesting show from barrys was the Hot Rod Build off on discovery a few years ago. Rides was a good show also but all this slap it togther stuff allows me to watch CSI reruns.

building race cars for immediate resale is a risky proposition..Might make for an interesting show, but the money just isn't going to be there IMHO

I said it once and I'll say it again. I just can't see Barry and wife getting excited when a car like that 69 Camaro brings 60 K or so. I sold the Battle Axe for $100K and I could have got more..I had a buyer over here looking for one..build another and let me tell you what to put in it. I will bid it at Auction..cheaper than I can get it done..if the buyer sees your elation, they feel they've bid more than you expected..Watch some of those poker shows

Just what is the deal with TLC an Discovery with this 5 week or 2 week build? Do they think car guys do not have the attention span to watch 5 shows on one build? I would love to drop the stupid gimmick and jack ass time thing and see guys build real cars. Yes, ther build would be rushed but not to a point were ther build suffers.

To Barry and any of these other shops, I can see there is some benefit to getting your name out there but these shows are going to hurt business if you do not stop with the 1/2 done builds. For someone who doesn't know who you are has got to see you throwing a car together and then ripping off some uneducated buyer at an auction. What do you tell the owner when all the plastic cracks? What about the guy who pays 60k and then sees how the car was built on the show? Yours is the only show with that format.
Sorry, makes great TV that I do watch but I wouldn't want that body guy touching anything of mine. Can't see him turning that mentality off when the camera leaves.

I have seen a couple of your cars before the show and would just hate to see you ruin a reputation over a TV show???

I'll make this quick for ironworks and BRIAN, You guys think we just throw these cars together, we spend way too much time to have some guy say we slap it together, yea I'm talking to you ironworks, been doing this for 5 years and you talk **** like this. Go find some dudes to do some pluming and stuff at your shop. Thats what you were looking for right?

Brian, I hate to inform you, but our business has only flurished. We don't do half done builds, when the car is done it goes to auction. We don't tow them to the stage and tow them off.

      ok

You have to admit that none of these cars are the nicest cars that have ever come out or barry's. I have been to you shop a couple times and I know that you guys do better work than what they show. I'm not talkin crap, I just know the show makes your skills look not as good as they are because quality takes time. Believe me I know quality takes time.
