Every year, on thanksgiving morning about 1,000 of my closest friends congregate

Sometimes you look up to see ALL of your old friends are gone and it is time to formally introduce yourself to new ones.......

hahaha yall are funny! I appreciate the compliments.

I found this picture too... That is not sunlight under the truck!!!

      SO this happened....

annnd the truck had to hide out for a little bit. hahahah

I put 60,000 miles on this truck in just one year

i was doing 60mph (with slicks) and hydroplaned. I was quick enough to spin a complete 360 with a lane change without skipping a beat but ten miles later i hydroplaned AGAIN and just couldn't turn that manual steering wheel fast enough, that many times. i'm pretty sure it is like 8 turns lock to lock. anyways, i did a 540 right into the ditch.

Lucky it is a Toyota and sustained minimal damage.

By now the carbureted small block is REAL TIRED!!!!! The cylinders are so wore out that you can taste oil from the blow by when you really hammer it. both piston skirts broke off the #6 piston. It knock with continuous load.. but only up hill. It leaks and burns oil so bad and my dipstick ended up... uhhhh... "special"... so i use the oil pressure gauge to tell when i need to add oil!

NATURALLY i moved onto suspension modifications instead of the powerplant. because it already has a V8 ya know. I started by making a fixture for new upper control arms.

Made the fixture adjustable length so i can make stock, 1.5", 3" and 4.5" over.

Apparently someone is trying to redefine "drive it like you stole it."

You have excellent fabrication skills. I'm enjoying the story and the fabrication. Thank you for the laughs.

One of the last times i was able to use my truck as a truck.....

      Then this happened

I wish i got this on video because we all thought it was so funny calling it a wheel barrel.

My dad tripped and went tumbling across the yard dropping the truck on Fat Erik's foot.

I stripped the nose off it.

Cut a big hole in the firewall

Started connecting the cage to the front bumper so i can REALLY smash stuff!!!

Finally released from the carbureted stranglehold!!!

I trimmed a little more of the firewall out for safe measure

I'm in the middle of opening a shop right now so this project has been put on hold for a bit while the building is being finished. BUT i got myself some motivation in the form of fiberglass fenders! These are not the wheels i plan to use. they were just sitting next to the truck when my fenders came in. i have four 18x9.5 wheels in the basement.

Cool little project, Im in the same boat as far as doing it on weekends or my toold dont end up at the job site on monday morning!

Are you still going to be doing the control arms?

      Where is your shop located?

My truck frame will be abbreviated much like yours after the first of the year if all goes as planned, The rear ection will be turned into a trailer since the bed will be occupied full time.
The rule is measure twice and cut once. My problem is I still measure with a mic and cut with an axe!

Thanks. I am in southern New Hampshire. Do you have a build thread for your truck? Those control arms i built just went into this:
