Chris I'm super happy how the car came out in the end. Thanks again for let us help. We are just a phone call away from helping again.

Not yet, but it is amazingly close

The C7 is about as fast as it will get [for now]. The 48 Hr Corvette will get a LOT better in the next 2 events. They never fall out of the trailer fast. At the first SCCA event at Bowling Green...the C7 Z06 was about 3 seconds a lap faster on a 55 second lap. To put that in context, the Z06 was fast lap time of 93 cars [including some with slicks].

I have to say that C7 Z06 is possibly the best car I have ever driven. Between the launch control, the Magnaride shocks, the sticky tires, and the ABS...there is not much left for the driver to do...except enjoy the ride!

There will be a good group of fast guys at Texas Goodguys...Kyle Tucker, Josh Leisinger, Rob McGreagor, my 69 Mustang...that will be a good test of the Corvette's capabilities.

That's pretty impressive. I am looking forward to see how it runs when it is dialed in.

Have you had any trouble with overheating or losing power in the C7 Z06? I know that's been a complaint going around the internet.

No problems at all. After 23 minutes of hotlaps, engine temp 226, oil temp 262. Heatsoak is a myth.

If you haven't broke it yet, i'd say it's good to go Bret!! If GM only knew they were carrying a warranty on a car you "drive" HAHAHAHA!!

Enjoy it, you deserve it! Beautiful car, I love it in white, most of my late models are white as well, much easier to maintain!

The car really came out looking and driving amazingly (thanks in no small part to the custom DYAD we built for it!). We're super excited that it took its first event win already at the Ft Worth stop of the optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge. Can't wait to see what other wins it racks up this year. It was an awesome experience and we can't wait til the guys at ridetech do it again.

      Thanks guys!

Chris Smith was able to pilot the Corvette to a convincing victory in ALL of the segments of the GTV class competition…1st place in the autocross…1st place in the speed stop…1st place in the road course…and 1st place in the design and engineering category. This all added up to a 1st place finish overall with the highest points total ever in USCA history! (Event Results)

Smitty had this to say about the results: “Obviously we are thrilled with this win! Although it has come early in the season, it is the result of years of collective experience, months of planning, and at this point, several weeks of intense physical work to get this car built and sorted out. I can’t say enough about the kickass performance of the Lingenfelter power, the grip of the Falken tires, the stopping power of the Baer brakes, and the handling of the ridetech suspension!”

RideTech President and 48 Hour Corvette owner Bret Voelkel commented: “The cooperation of all the suppliers for the 48 Hour project AND the performance of their products has been stunning. I am so proud of the team of people that has worked towards this goal. AND…this project has only just begun…we hope to repeat this winning performance many times over the summer!”

In addition to the 48 Hour Corvette, the RideTech 69 Mustang was also in serious competition for GTV class honors. Bret was able to run 2nd in the Speed Stop, 3rd in the road course, and 5th in the autocross to end up with a 9th place overall finish. A failed fuel pump relay prevented completing the road rally segment and a potential 2nd place overall finish. Bret commented on the performance of the Mustang: “It’s been awhile since I’ve driven this old girl…it felt really good to get back into an air suspension car. We’ve got a few refinements to make and this thing will be super competitive!”

The next outing for both cars will be the Goodguys autocross in Raliegh, NC on April 17-19.
