Project CT 67 C10 by Speedtech

      Hey All-

Check out what's on the table at Speedtech Performance! Reminiscent of the beautiful southern Utah sunset, this hot new project will bring a sense of awe to all who stick around to watch it.

We've been hankerin' for a hauler for some time now, we needed a good excuse to develop some new suspension parts for the 67-72 C10 crowd. Well this little p'up wandered into the shop lookin' like it had a pretty tough life. It's got quite a history, we'd tell you but we really don't know what it is, lol. Needless to say, there wasn't one matching color panel, it was missing half it's parts, it had rust all over and it looked so bad it would run and hide every time a camera came out. I barely got this first shot while it was hiding behind the paint booth.

After hiding in the corner of the shop for several months the stars aligned and the truck came out with a pretty serious game plan. Instead of simply adapting our suspension to it's battered frame we decided to start fresh. So along with this build will come one of the first of Speedtech's new line of full frame products! These frames will offer super low stance, proprietary front suspension geometry based on our ATS tall spindle, a little bit of a straying away from the norm out back, and some subtle body mods to create a look that hasn't been seen before. This is a side project being built for us to play around with so follow along over the next few months as it all comes together.

The parts list is a long one, starting out with a complete new bed, tailgate, doors, fenders, hood, floor, rockers, and lower cab corner patch panels. Additional patch panels were hand formed to take car of areas we couldn't order. During the process, the firewall got moved back and smoothed a little, and the drip rails got shaved. Topping off the cab mods will also be flush mount glass and a modified cowl panel. These pics are the start of some very cool things to come...

Beautiful rendering. Can't wait to see it come to life. I have yet got to see one of mine completed on an actual vehicle. Awesome work, can't wait to see more.

Thanks Peter and Chris! There's more to the design we left out of the artwork that we'll release photos of as it gets implemented onto the truck. We're really excited to see this one come together.

Here are some updates. After playing with more color options we've decided to do something different than straight black and make it Oreo two tone. Oreos are "America's" favorite cookie" right? We're also adding some mild ground effects to have it hug the ground and flow the air a little better. One last thing not in the new rendering is that we'll be using a deeper rather than a shallow wheel offset.

      Photos coming in a few...

The frame is underway. Right now we're waiting on our new forged ATS tall spindles to be completed, which are designed specifically for the new line of frames. Most frames on the market use the Vette spindle, our new spindle has even better geometry than the Vette unit. It will be by far the best choice in spindles you can by.

Ultimately the goal is to have a truck with the lowest (without bags) static ride height on the market, handle like a well built Camaro, and cruise comfortably too.

If you're wondering, although by far the short bed wins the popularity contest, but we'll have a version for a long bed and we'll be looking into the Blazer too.

I like the last rendering, if it was mine I would look at making all the red accents standard dove grey.

I guess we can't leave well enough alone...

Not long ago Forgeline announced deeper offsets available for the GT3C wheels, so back to the drawing board we went. After a few different options were considered we decided to do the centers in transparent red and the barrels in white. We're after a mild custom yet still out of the box styling with this build so the shoe, or in this case wheel, fits. We talked to Baer and they were able to whip together a little custom bling for the brakes too, which will look great under the wheels. Cool eh? BTW the Speedtech Signature Logo calipers are now available to customers too.

Here's sneak peak of the new frame. This is our prototype chassis posed under Oreo's cab, and is actual static ride height. The cool thing about this is the frame is tucked about even with the stock rockers and it has a full range of normal travel at this height. Now, for you slamarized guys, imagine how easy it would be to put this thing on the ground with a set of bags, which will be an option with the chassis package. In the photo we borrowed wheels from another project to give a feel for sizing. These are 335-30-18s on 18x12 rallies out back and 275-35-18s on 9.5s up front. Our final wheels will be 19s and 20s with 345s out back and 315s up front. This is going to be one killer C10 that has the moves!

We got the wheels and tires from Forgeline yesterday. WoW!! Some of the shop guys think we're pushing the limits a bit on styling but I say they're totally sick! The transparent red looks wicked and the white rim will tie them into the truck's paint theme. It's like a crazy blend of old school deuce coupe wide whitewalls on red rims and new school pro touring flair and styling with a bit of attitude. Let us know what you think!

To visually drop the truck even lower and get the air flow around the rolling brick a little better Jeremy's created some mild side fairings.

Here's the beginning metal work on the hood.

      More coming soon...

Ben, looks awesome. I am thinking of some side skirts and things to that affect for the Chevelle. I just want try and make it a bit more aerodynamic. Love the new rendering as well. Do you have any more angles of the side fairings?

      Thanks for following along!

This is a little more along the lines of the offset we will see from Forgeline. At this point we'll likely run 345-20s out back and 315 19s up front. Fatness on the ground is a good thing.
