does anyone other then ats make a non tall spindle. i know you can get their afx spindles that take the c5/c6 hubs and are not a tall spindle. but does anyone else make them? i have tall ball joints on my new a arms and looking into spindle and brake options. thanks

ATS makes a factory height spindle also.

The only other company around making a spindle the uses the C5/6 bearing is CPP and theirs is tall also. I honestly do not see someone taking the time to develop another spindle for this market. The CPP spindle is cheap and so are stock height ball joints so swapping them out won't be too expensive.

The AFX Stock height (still 7/8 drop) will work perfectly with a tall ball joint. we have some brake packages we can put together with the spindles.
give Roger a call 1-888-467-1625 and he can go throug it with you.
but to answer your other question the only other option is Cpp.

i think i will end up with the stock hight afx spindles. i dont really want to replace brand new ballsjoints. and rather not buy the cpp. does the wilwood kit for afx spindles work well?

I don't want to harp on this, but a spindle purchase is a bigger expense than a ball joint purchase- I'd look at getting the advantage you are trying to achieve in the non-consumable part (spindle in this case). That said, it's your money and your decision.

And I'm known among my friends for ignoring my own advice.

I have tossed a set of brand new ball joints on one car beause the better option was a tall ball joint.

Greg, you're right in your thinking. I guess we didn't even think to ask what kind of car? I'm thinking the tall spindles could be an added expense though if he doesn't have UCA's that are designed for those?

im building a pro touring/cruise night 1970 chevelle. money is always on my mind with the project, but i will wait to get what i want for the car if i really want something. i have a stage 4 umi performance suspension with the tall ball joints. i started researching spindles after i got my kit and was looking into running c5/c6 hubs as an option because ats makes a non tall spindle that takes those hubs. id rather not remove brand new ball joints and risk scuffing my tasty new a-arms. id also have to run a different upper conrol arms like stated above. im also a little un-educated with running c5/c6 hubs on a a-body and was just looking into it as a option. i can always run a stock spindle, but its always cool to run something from a vette

if im going to run an aftermarket spindle and hub, it looks like ats's AFX stock height is the way to go. am i missing anything else with this? wilwood makes a 6 piston brake set up for the afx spindle, and i wanted to run big front brakes, so i think (catch me if im wrong) this set up should work. does running the afx spindle and c6 hub move the wheel mounting face in/out from stock?

Since you already have the UMI uppers, stock height would be the way to go. I'm not sure about them pushing the wheel mounting surface out further, my wheels were made with these in mind. Maybe Blake can answer? With the ATS you should be able to use Wilwood, OEM or any aftermarket brake for a C5/6 Corvette as long as your wheels can clear the brakes.

we will be able to ship Stock height spindle with in a couple weeks. just in the middle of unpacking from our big move.
we supply the spindles with Factory GM hubs. but your question was what is the BEST hub and that answer would be the ZR! hub but that is not required.

Unless he wants the ATS spindles with the ZR1 hubs. Not sure how much the ZR1 hub is over the C5 hub.
Might hve to call blake on that one.

Yes, they come assembled with hubs. You will still need to purchase steering arms.

ZR1 hubs might be overkill, but you are right the option is there.

Pretty sweet. I'll be giving them a call soon. I think the zr1 hubs are overkill too for a cruise night car. Thanks everyone

Is it possible to run the tall spindle and the tall ball joint or does that lead to issues with the geometry or binding?
