      67 Mustang Fastback Build....

      Hey guys,

I am almost finally at the point where I need to make final decisions on front and rear suspension. 4-link for the rear, and IFS for the front both with coilovers. I will be using a 9" with disc brakes and 20x10 wheels (I mini tubbed it!!), and up front I am installing a 2011 Coyote (Whippled) with 20x9 or 18x9 wheels. I have read horror stories about people buying the "wrong" IFS and the engine doesnt fit properly. For the rear I am in favor of the ride tech 4-link and the Chasis works 4-link.

Any suggestions, input, comments, thoughts, etc... would be very helpful and appreciated!!.

I hope I can help. I am building a 69 fastback and have the same questions you do. I too have decided to go with the ridetech rear setup. What I have researched it looks like the Mustang 2 front suspensions are not the best when it comes to road racing. My dilemma is that I want to eliminate the shock towers which pretty much means I need to go with a Mustang 2 front suspension. I am guessing you are doing the same if you are installing a coyote engine. From what I have read the best of these are either TCI or TCP. I am by no means an expert and hope some mustang guys will jump in to help out. By the way 'cool build'!

You can remove the towers also with Griggs front suspension, and that is more performance oriented than any MII system, which is really not for road racing.

Griggs is not cheap though. (With 20" wheels you will not go Roadracing anyway, so maybe the MII suits your needs ?)

For those that are wanting to use a ridetech or other rear suspension are leaning towards the subframe or crossmember and for those that are wanting to replace the floors and weld in a chassis are choosing our complete chassis for the strongest overall platform to base the project on.

Wow! Your products are a work of art. I wished I was not on such a tight budget.

if i had a project car like yours i would find a way no matter how long it took to budget the roadsterShop full blown chassis set up. it is so freaking awesome i so want that one day, maybe on the next build i do if i ever find a decent donor car.

My plan was to put a decent amount of money into the suspension and of course lots into the engine!!!

migg ...... Keep in mind that horsepower isnt any good unless you can put it to the ground.

guess i read the posts wrong.

      eliminated previous coment.

As others have mentioned, Griggs, Roadster Shop, I would add Art Morrison and Cortex Racing.....
none of those options inexpensive ofc.
