The SORC 2011 that several of us attended last year is airing tonight on Speed Channel at 9pm est. Be sure and watch it, something very special at the end I hope.

Great video! We go every year and what the video showed was about 5% of the fun... and you can't taste the steaks or the sweet corn in the video.

I miss the road from before they repaved it. That was an "only in America" adventure. I was going to set up a jump cam at one of the 3 jumps on the course, but 2 of the best jumps were removed in the repave.

That was back when first timers came, entered the 120, dropped down to the 110 after running the road once (well the smart ones did) and those that stayed in the 120 got schooled by Ted Hughes.

Here is our Video from 2003 in the 115 Class, before the road was repaved:

Thanks for the heads up! I watched it tonight.

Brought back good memories of the fun we had last year.

That is a cool video, but that is the Big Bend Open Road race in Texas. The 135 mph class in Big bend is roughly equivalent to the 110 mph class @ the SORC in the level of sheer driving intensity and about the 100 mph class @ the SORC for the ability to finish within 1 second as they did in the video.

The SORC has had 3 former 150 mph class winners @ the BBORR actually Crash out during the race (Doffer in the destroyed Mach 1 has won the BBORR 150 mph Class Twice)... The Odds of Crashing @ the SORC are slightly less if you have never won the 150 mph class @ Big Bend than if you have... so 98% of us are safe.

So how did our Regular cast of Pt folks do in the half mile runs? You guys didn't get much coverage on the TV show. Excuse me if the results are already posted here somewhere if so I missed it?

Here is a link to the Shoot Out Results

They don't list the cars by class, so you have to search for the 91 class cars.

Here are the Road Race Class Results so you can pick out the 91 class car numbers.

I ran 148.9.. which I call 150mph lol in the half.. as a trivia point only 4 cars were faster in the half and they had way better aero (and were boosted).. was happy at how I represented the NA crowd... I couldn't run the mile because I didn't have the fifth point to my harness (sad face).. John Parsons was a touch slower than me in his moddes C6 Z06 and we beat the supercharged Calloway C6 by a decent margin.

I was called last week and asked if I was interested.. I said "yep".. haven't heard if I made the cut yet.

Fun event, but 1600 miles to NE for a race is a LONG LONG way.. also, if I did go I would have to come home and get into full drag race trim by the next weekend for Pomona.. going for very low 10s on nitrous

New sway bars, new suspension bushings, but most importantly, a better seat, 6 pt harness, and a HANS device. Now I just need a few more hp to compete with Penny in the 1/2 mile. That, or run without a passenger.

And btw, where've you been? Your friends were wondering...
