      spring free floating height

I just have a quick queation on free floating height.
Will one inch taller free floating height over stock make the springs actually sit one inches taller, or what's the deal?

I originally bought rear springs that had the same specs as stock replacement except the free floating height is about an inch longer. I did this to make sure the massize 325-50s would fit with gas shocks rather then the use of stupid air shocks

I'm just asking AS i know plan to run a 295-50-15 on street and some 315-35-17s for track days and dont want it to look stupid from a big gap between top of tire to quarter lip!

      Thanks in advance

So long as the springrate is exactly the same.

      Stupidity should be painful.

Does same spec imply the coil is the same but longer or that the spring rate is the same? Just lengthening a spring with equivalent diameter coil will result in a different spring rate.
