      trailer problem

Someone on my block called the town on me last week about my car trailer. U can't have trailer on your Property in my town. But u can have a boat, RV, or a camper, so what is the difference? The trailer is parked on the side of the house. Now i need to find a place to put it or sell it

I sent this to the town. How can u say no to him.
      Dad's truck

      truck and trailer

      wait for it

he is slowly driving out of the door

      he comes down the ramp

      and he's gone.

This is one I'd fight. Our local municipality attempted to pass an ordinance preventing RVs from being parked. It would have probably gone through, but a couple upstanding individuals went public and really pushed. It ended up being completely thrown out.

First, go see your zoning officer and request in writing the ordinance that singles out "trailers" but allows RVs, boats, etc. Then go to your council meeting and make a heck of a stink. You at least could pressure them to either enforce the ban on ALL trailers including boats and RVs, or lift it totally. Depends on your local politics.

Can you park it beside/behind your house and tarp it with a camo flavored tarp?
I have my stuff(camper & car trailer) parked back in the woods so it isn't quite as noticeable from the highway. Zoning laws are silly when they are not consistantly enforced.

Yeah, if you fight I doubt they will be able to enforce it. How an enclosed trailer is appreciably different from an RV is beyond me. Hell, most fifth wheels would be a good bit taller and brighter colored than your trailer.

I like this idea. I'm sure someone could wrap it in vinyl.

I have a lawyer working on trying to find a loop hole for me. I might go to DMV and change the title to say camper. Right now it in a lot with my other trailer for $125 a month. I'm putting up a 6 foot fence and parking it behind the house on the garage side in the spring. A friend of mine is going to put his 51 merc in it for the winter.

Install a window, fridge and a mattress and you now have an RV.
