They had the car off the hoist this morning so I snapped a pic to show it at full compression.

Looks cool. I had to modify my floor pan to get that much compression. Are you using the coil-overs that came with the kit or something different. I ask because using the CO's as they came with the kit on mine at the highest lower mounting point still has me riding very low. I've even adjusted the CO 2/3 up to get up to ride height. I'd never get that much clearance in the front to run it at that height.

It is basically a welded bar mimicing full shock compression which is about 10.75" center to center. I would venture to guess your upper coilover mount is mounted higher in the chassis than in the Mustang. What spring rate did you run?

My kit came with the 250lb springs. Right our of the bock with no height adjustment mounting them in the top hole still had me sitting too low. (looked great but not very functional.)

I went to a single adjustable Vari-Shock to match my front suspension (and got a killer deal on them). It is a longer shock than what came with my kit and uses a 12" spring. I was recommended a 150lb spring by TCP. I feel like I should have gone to a 175-200 for my 3000lb car.

You are likely right about the hight of the upper mount. my rear frame rails climb at a steeper rate behind the rear seat than the mustang. I'm wondering now if it would be beneficial to go to a longer C/O since I have the room. But thats another discussion.

I wish you guys were coming out to Lonestar GoodGuys. You could check out the car. I really like the kit. It looks great. I cant wait to try it out.

TCP's recommendation for 150# spring rate is based on a shock sitting vertical which is a completely different formula than a shock laid over 20 degres like ours.

I can't wait till you try it out also. Your car is the lightest example I am aware of running our Torque Arm.

It's been a while since an update but the boss man has been hard at work trying to get the car ready for the 2011 Run to the Coast event.

Ed decided to go ahead an mini-tub the car so we can squeeze a 12" wide wheel and a 335 tire.

Special thanks to Billet Specialties for the gorgeous wheels

      18x12

      18x10

Ed also decided to make a valence with a splitter and brake ducts.

Hard to tell from the pics but this one below shows where the brake duct will eventually be.

Ed wouldn't fess up but I am guessing he is contemplating rear brake ducts here.

ahhh thats better. Best to make the room for the tire get the car to sit right. Make sure you build in an extension to get the pan to go all the way back to the steering linkage. Keep up the great work. Looks great J Vince

Yep, the Camaro will be there and possibly the Nova we took to the Handling Challenge. I am still trying to talk Sal into letting my buddy Jeff drive the Camaro one of the two days. Nothing against Sal's abilities at all but Jeff has a ton of experience and could maximize the potential of the car. I think Ed is going to be the sleeper of the bunch though once he gets back in the seat. He has a bunch of road racing titles from back in the day.

We mounted the rear tires today but the fronts won't be here til next week. Apparently Michelin discontinued the 295/30/18 so I went ahead and picked up 4 of them.

We also received the gas tank this week.
