Bruce, could you please post more pics of your bird. Been waiting to see it unless I've missed the postings. Beautiful car.

      Hey Lenie -

Thanks buddy... Long time, no talk. Hope your 'Bird is doing well. Post me a link to your thread if you have one.

Here are a few shots of Project Freebird from last month at Camaro 5 Fest in Georgia. The glass and interior were out but they go back in this weekend.

The SST Camaro was supposed to be ready, but since it wasn't a few asked me to drag the Firebird up. The girls seemed to like it...

Bruce, that is just impressive. I was wondering how it was coming along. Thanks for the pictures. It appears there's not enough seating for the girlslol. My project's on hold while I sell the house I'm in and build another (w/a shop). Wish I could clone myself so I could get more accomplished. Again, your Firebird is an example of one of the nicer builds on the site, just my opinion. Don't be bashful w/the pictures. I have quite a few relatives in Florida, hopefully one day soon I'll bring it down and we'll be able to do a fly by together.

Thanks for the compliment! Considering I did the twins with no one really knowing for sure how it'd run, it actually runs suprisingly well. It's still not tuned yet, but I figure she's capable of making ~700hp flywheel, and on an out-of-state drive I saw 16 mpg on the laptop cruising @ 75mph in 5th. The boost comes on STRONG, and the car gets uncontrollable VERY quick. I've only seen ~10psi, and it'll scare the hell out of me everytime.

Here's an early buildup pic. I did everything on the car myself (fabrication, paint, electrical, etc), with the exception of the longblock & head assembly.

Here's my Chevelle's engine as it sits today. Switching to a mechanical waterpump and power steering so it looks apart but it is ready to rock and roll as soon as I get the body back on and the front suspension done.

Car was built for a heads up class in the NMRA called Pure Street. Has ran a best of 10.40 @ 131 at 3200 lbs. this was on VP C10, 100 octane unleaded. rules required 2 1/2" exhaust and 80mm max mass air. With the design of the dohc we were able to utilize 13:1 compression.

      Hey Sam -

Thanks for the nice compliments. Sorry about the delay in the response, was out of town all of July.

      1. To make the front clip I purchased a factory Firebird bumper and lower valence (from a same year Camaro) both made out of Fiberglass, hacked them to pieces to get "the look", then brought them to a boat builder to make a plug that could be further modified. This was then put on the Firebird for fitting and more molding. Then I took the plug to a fabricator (who makes the molds for Sea Doo) and he made a mold for a one piece front. We then took the mold up to a race boat builder and they made a one piece clip out of Carbon Fiber. Ended up being quite time consuming and way more expense than originally planned, but at least I have the mold if the clip ever gets damaged.

      2. The girls were wives and girlfriends of Camaro owners. Wish they came with the car, but no such luck... Would have one for each day of the week...

Here's my setup with the new EFI intake in place. Sorry for the haphazard look of things...in the middle of a few projects right now.
