      89 Z24 Convertible Project

Now I know this is a project most of you won't care for. I've owned the car since 2001

      Its a 1989 Chevy Z24 Cavalier Convertible with a 2.8 V6 and a automatic transmission

      current mods are

      K&N drop in filter
      Magnaflow high-flow cat
      Flowmaster exhaust
      Eibach springs
      KYB GR2 struts and shocks
      Energy Suspension bushings
18 inch Axis TC-Evo wheels with red lip
      Diza Racing Body kit
      JSP CF Invader hood
      C4 Vette tails
      Shaved inner tails
      Shaved locks
      Shaved antenna
      Shaved luggage rack

Planning on redoing the current tweed interior and doing some custom fiberglass work, 3400 engine swap, and updating some body work that needs fixed

the current look of the car

      When I first purchased it

first set of wheels (almost kinda wish I left it in this state and just dropped it oh well, maybe one day if I feel like returning it to this state)

Love it!! The first brand new car that I ever purchased was a 1988 Cavalier Z24 with a 5 speed back when I was a teenager. I always liked them and what you're doing looks great. Can't wait too see more pics.

I seem to remember this car from j-body.org a while back. Or am I confusing your car with someone else? Nice work though.

      Real Neat.

The top down photo's of the cars current setup looks like an Alfa Romeo 164 crossed with one of those Pininfarina Caddys. I really dig it.

      Updates Pleeze!

while i'm not a fan of the ground effects ( i like the stock ones)
      i like it.

before i purchased my GP, it was between the GP and a Sunbird Convert, V6-5spd.
don't see many V6, 5spds or that combo in a convert.

      thumbs up from me.

your ricer is showing! I liked it until I saw the tail lights and front cover. But, to each their own, as long as you're happy. Good work.

which tails are you reffering to? the clears? those are long gone I only have the shaved inners with c4 tails

the front bumper well with a 2nd gen j-body I'm very limited and the only other 2 full replacement bumpers are very ugly, I wouldnt mind a Buddy Club 2 bumper its pretty conservative looking but I'd have to find a fiberglass verison to hack up to make fit right and I dont feel like going through that much work

      the interior

      Stock

Did some painting (don't worry it got changed)

      Recovered the interior in tweed

      basic door

      tweed

      Rear panel

      New carpet

redid the painting I prefer this much better

new rear panels that will be redone

sub box created to replace the back seat

the foam is to fill space I had way too much in there before

car sat for awhile and carpet kinda got trashed from water leakage and what not, i think I'll replace with black carpet

Also another thing for this car is a kinda of roadster cover that will sit inside of my top cover

The cover will have 2 humps on it behind the headrests like you would see in some vehicles

My first new car was the same '89, but a hard top. Nice little cars, yours is almost unrecognizable from the stock version. Looks great.
