tr6060 is the next generation I guess from my understanding and a little different from at t56. The t56 magnum I think is a beefed up t56 straight from the factory.

I've been after information on the 6060 and I am told to wait until at least Christmas for the aftermarket units. As far as the gear ratios, check out the new Challenger.

      James,

Are you asking purely for informational purposes or do you have something something specific that you are trying to achieve?

Here is some basic info on the TR6060 that is in the 2009 CTSV:

      http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en..._MH3_MG9_n.doc

Perhaps if you posted your application and some ideas of what you want, we can better answer your questions and present solutions that you may not have thought about.

      Hi James,

Here are the only 2 ratios to be produced:

      2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.0, .74, .50
      2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.0, .80, .62

      Torque capacity 700LB-FT max

I'll revise my post with some literature tomorrow or over the weekend.

Please contact Jeff x210, Gene x211 or myself x222 if you would like to pre-order.

I talked to Tremec the other day about these. ETA is mid to late March.

It's the same internals as the 6060 but it doesn't have the remote shifter and instead the more "T56 like" arrangement. It also has a tailshaft better for aftermarket installations. In addition the 6060 has an integrated bellhousing while the T56 Magnum has a modular one (better for swaps). I'm also supposed to get some technical white papers on the trans. I will keep you updated.

It's a very nice trans, but it will still only have the two gear sets available.. the old f-body Camaro type and the Corvette type.

Working on getting one for the Track Rat project.

Hey Tony.. I hope it's not December.. I got a "before summer" vibe from Tremec.

Heck, we've waited long enough! lol

Besides OEM production has slowed so they must want to ramp up the aftermarket line.

I think this will solve my problems I really want a 6 speed becuause of the extra gear, but was thinking of doing a custom t56 to get the carbon syncro's and brass forks installed. I also wanted the chevrolet 1-4 with the ford 5&6 I have a carburated car so I thought I would actually be able to use 6th without going 140 down the freeway. Not that I don't now

Anyway, I am going to wait even though I am not the most patient person... Early summer sounds a lot better than December!

      Thanks for the info

      With my .50 6th I can do 80mph and turn 2000 rpm.

And knock down 25mpg.. it's not a bad thing.

      Steven,

When are you going to man up and get a dog ring transmission for Penny?

You mean when is my wallet going to "man up" lol

The new Rockland unit I have is pretty darn nice. The only change I wiould make would be in the gearing.

I drove my car 100 miles once and I did not have to fill up I thought that was pretty good too! My car acts funny when I drive less that 2500 rpms, have the .78 od ratio right now makes it about 75 at 3300 according to keisler website I would be able to do about 80 at 2500 with a .64 so that would be cool with me...

Dog boxes for a street car are a PITA for most... not everyone wants to have to shift fast... especially when you are just cruising around and not beating on it.

I wish a dog box could stand to be slow shifted... I'd be all over it for a high power street car. But the increase in teardowns is another reason not to use a dog box in a street chassis.

I had a Liberty dog ring T56 in my RX7 and it was a breeze to shift fast or slow, once you got the hang of it.

Yeah... but most people just dont really get the timing down... and it eventually beats up the box.

Not to mention... that people like you and me actually like doing a clutch and trans R&R in an hour and a half just because we think it's fun to do. Most others dont...

True that! I wish that someone made a helical cut, dog ring gear set for the Richmond 6spd. I love the fact that the Richmond fits so well in my GTO, but the trans is marginal in terms of shift speed. Liberty now offers TKOs with dog ring engagement and other goodies. I am really tempted, but I hate the thought of hacking up my transmission tunnel.
