      Idle temp on LSA Swap

Just wrapping up an LSA swap on an LS3 and at idle, I’m getting 210 coolant temp and that’s no AC running and it’s still pretty cool outside (65-70 degrees). What temp are you typically getting at idle for the folks that have done the swap? TIA

LS engines are notorious for having air trapped in the cooling system. When it is idling, is the lower radiator hot? I mean is it so hot that you can't keep your hand on it for more than a few seconds?

If it is not that hot, then that is a sign that the thermostat has not opened. I have had excellent results using the funnel kits that you attach to the radiator inlet.

Above; we have to remove the upper hose at the radiator and fill there to knock out all the air pockets

Will check temp on lower today and see if it is getting hot. Thanks

It is the stock thermostat that comes with the crate LS3 495, which I believe is a 180 degree thermostat.
