Ben, do you have any pics of how you guys handle the fuel lines along the subframe?

I don't but the car will be back on the lift next week and I'll snap some. This car has our subframe connectors which include channels for running fuel lines and E brake cables. Basically from the tank it follows the rear frame rail, heads forward through the channel, crosses over at the trans crossmember and follows the trans up to the back of the engine where it Y's into the two fuel rails.

Here's a shot of that fuel line. Notice how our frame connector's channel allows the PTFE nitrous and fuel lines to be tucked up above the floor pan level. Up front it goes up along side the transmission and behind it follows the rear frame rail up and then the Panhard bar crossmember over to the tank. If you need a specific photo let me know and I can snap it for you.

Here's a look at the bottom side of that cool custom air intake, a trick air filter box that's fed from underneath away from engine heat. Also seen is the remote oil filter location, part of the set up with our road race and dry sump LS oil pans. Next up is a custom air dam and splitter that will help guide air to the filters and provide the necessary down force at higher speeds.

love it, did you have to use fesler billet running light mounts? or make your own?

That intake looks like it's begging to suck in water. Is there some sort of cover with baffling to prevent this?

@ Skylark- The intake is designed to have a ram air without interfering with over the hood aero, and the splitter we're building will be the bottom of a box that will seal the air filters off to the front mesh in the valance. The splitter will also keep any low riding road debris, cats, Mustangs and so forth from bouncing up in there. The photo is a little deceiving how low the filters are, just behind the mesh in the valance is the radiator support so any water that may be from a rainy day would collect on that (while the air would flow underneath) then drip down to the splitter and roll off the back. Any mist that may enter the filters would likely be far less than say a water/meth injection system. I suppose if Karl tried to pull a Jeep safari through a stream over about a foot deep there might be some concern though, ;) lol!

This particular car will pretty much never see a wet day outside anyway. One of the main reasons Karl wanted to build this car is to run top end races like the Texas mile and Silver State classic. Outside of that an occasional clear day cars and coffee may be it's other main use.

@ James- The Fesler mounts were hard to get so we opted for a kit from Morris Classic Concepts that included mounts that we painted black.

No Problem! We're all about everyone building top quality cars, even the DIY guys, so for the most part we're happy to share what we do here. When we design parts like the frame connectors, we try to think of what little things would make life easier, the fuel line channels are a great example of those type things built into many of our products. Good luck with your build!!

      No problemo.

Here's some more pics to show what we've got going on...

The radiator support is in line behind the valance grills, airflow will go up through the radiator and down underneath to the air filters.

The air filters are in front of the sway bar and will be sealed off, guiding the air flow and keeping debris and such from the tires getting up in there.

The splitter will create down force at speed, seal the air box on the bottom side and help direct airflow under the car.

The interior's that coming together while the air dam is being fabricated. The back seat is kinda useless with the cage in the way so we made it a little more useful with the speakers taking up the back portion and functional storage compartments on both bottom sides.

      Ben,
Any chance you guys might be offering that front spoiler/splitter as a bolt on accessory? I really like the design and would be interested in one that would bolt on the stock lower valance of the 68. Just sayin!

Sorry Steve, it's all one-off custom made per vehicle and chassis.

Wrapping up the trunk (no pun intended) custom leather covered and magnetically attached .090 aluminum finish panels really enhance the sleek look. One hides the battery and one the amps. Don't forget the go-go juice mounts too!

      Thanks man!

Here's a couple pics of the hand made splitter. The flat bottom carbon fiber is a piece we bought, while and .090 sheet aluminum fabbed up makes the air dam. Inner walls direct air flow and keep debris from the front tires entering.Once it was all done we painted it to match the car.

Well the Camaro's all buttoned up and now we're in the programming and tuning and test driving stage. Quick teaser pic, when it's ready to be delivered to Karl I'll take it out for a photo shoot.

That mesh came direct from McNichol's. We bought a large sheet, I think you can buy smaller sections from different distributors through ebay and such.

It's done!!! Karl's car is wrapped up and I took a few pics out back before we send it off to him. I have the photo gallery for this car updated on our website so rather than post a whole bunch of pics here simply click the link for the gallery. Go there and take a look, and then feel free to comment your thoughts about the car here. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
