      4L80e into a 69cutlass

Anything I need to know on fitment or issues? Will the stock cross-member work?
What dipstick do yall recommend? I tried searching for a lokar locking style but could not find one for the 4l80e.

Also is anyone familiar with using this 4l60e to 80e adapter?- http://www.speartech.com/product_p/60to80upgrade.htm

Holley makes 1" forward engine mounts for the A-bodies and they claim only minor tunnel clearansing is required to fit a 4L80e. They also make a crossmember for the 4L80...

Thanks Andrew and Tim. Should be getting the transmission in about 3weeks to a month. The 4L60e is slipping going into 2nd and from 2nd slipping down to 1st.
While I'm doing this I want to swap out the canton oil pan. Is the holley 302-2 or mast pan better?

Looking at both, I would use the Mast pan. It has the part near the oil filter housing threaded so you could easily add an oil cooler later if needed. Also it appears less sloped which would allow you to move closer to the crossmember giving more room at the firewall if needed . Just my .02....

I used the LS1 Camaro pan when I first installed and wished I had bought the Autokraft pan I have now first. I have much more room between the sump and the crossmember now and could have helped myself with room at the firewall.

You don't need the adapter harness, there are lots of directions out there on how to do it for free, or almost free.

Holley makes a complete kit with mounts, oil pan, trans crossmember etc, that may help

Picked up the 4l80e yesterday. Its a jakes stage 3 early core with a triple disc converter.

The exhaust didn't fit with the new transmission. Reused the driveshaft and changed out the transmission yoke. Used a nelson performance conversion harness. Other than the exhaust the transmission fits in place.

Transmission was pulled and is now back in. It was only working fine in reverse before. All other gears it would barely move. Marked dipstick and made sure converter installed and spaced right. Also bought a TCI stock depth pan that has a drain plug, since we messed up the old pan and being to drain it will be nice. The converter was re-stalled to be about 500rpms looser, so it should be around 4000. It now works again except it wants to lock up early in first unless commanded to not lock up.

UPDATE. My friend redid the segment swap and the transmission is working like it should. Will try to take under car pics next time I put it on jack stands. The car felt really sluggish with the 80e, though that was because with the stock segment swap it had 30% torque management.
