Lack of four door protouring muscle cars?

***Before you start, yes there is no real "4door muscle car" But i have no idea what else to call it***
I've yet to see a 4 door pro touring muscle car in real life(but lots of 2 doors). Even on here, there's a lack of 4 door muscle cars (from the era of 1965-1973). I've only seen a few of them online(well, i've yet to really look hard).
I'm interested in seeing if anyone here has done anything of the sort, more specifically, 1968-1972 Novas(Since i'm looking for idea's for mine)

So go ahead, post your 4 door project here and inspire me.

Most inspiring thing i have is this:

That is considering since my car is also orange and this gives me a basic color scheme to follow, also shows me 4 doors can be cool

I'm 71 so I may be a little confused about there ever being a 4Dr Muscle Car made. I can't remember one.

To me it's like calling a Corvette a Muscle car. It's a 2 seat Sports car, not a Muscle Car.

Any car can be made into a Pro Touring car, even a Corvette, at least I keep truing to do that with one..LOL

So how about people with 4 Dr Pro Touring cars, showing them off...

Well yeah, my mistake, a 4 door car

Edit: A bit off topic, but would you consider the new charger hellcat a muscle car? Or just something you smoke imports in while going to grab some milk from the store?

Back in my "HAY DAY", Chargers, Camaros, Mustangs, AMXs etc were called "Pony Cars" even with the muscle some of them had under the hood, because of their weight and size Vs the Heavier and Mid size body "Muscle" Cars, with more muscle under the Hood than standard models. Over the years that view has been skewed to include them as being Muscle Cars too.

In the past few years, American Auto makers have revived the HP wars of the past with names of the "Pony Cars" cars from the past. When you compare the weight of these cars and the HP/TQ options they have, to the rest of the Cars in Auto Maker's line, they are Modern Day Muscle Cars.

Now is the Caddy CTS-V also a Muscle Car too? It's 0-60 time is slightly better than the Camaro Z28's and ZL1 time, but none of them are in the class with the Hell Cat and Mustange Shelby GT500 0-60 times.

Camaro and Caddy CTS-V tout their handling, claiming they are more than straight line performance cars. Caddy most likly will never be considered a Muscle Car. Most likly it will be considered a Performance Touring Car because of the Cadallic reputation of being a luxury car maker.

Do you think the new Camaro and CTS-V should be considered off the show room floor Pro Touring cars more so than Muscle Cars? Pro Touring cars are not just Straight Line cars, they have to be all around performance cars that handle great also.

PS: There's nothing to brag about in being able to smoke import cars with any of these cars.
The new Corvette C7 Z06 0-60 time is better than the Mustang GT500 or Hell Cat times. It's not a Modern Day Muscle car, but it can smoke them...LOL

Any of the intermediate 4 door cars were build on the same wheelbase as their 2 door brothers. 4 door Coronets,Satellites,Darts, Tempests, Malibus, Cutlass etc. are not giving up much if any weight to the 2 doors.

I love four door cars. I currently have two of them. A 1963 Corvair Sedan that is getting LSX front engine rear drive, and a 2012 Mazda 3 sedan which handles really well but does not make a lot of power.

      You're actually correct...

This is the weights for a 1970 nova with different engine options and doors. At most, with the V8 option, is 123 pounds difference(And i'm sure its because of the extra windows, window mechanics and panels etc). Sure that matters when you will drag race because every pound counts, but for a pro touring car?
And i'm pretty sure 4door nova's handled a bit better than 2doors-at stock- because 4 doors had a natural 1" drop in ride

Probably because, in general, the 2 dr versions are better looking and more popular. However, I'm surprised you are not aware of themost famous 4 door "PT" car around; the Hotchkis Taxi, a 1970 Satellite 4dr. Here it is doing a tire test for Hot Rod magazine.

Maybe you meant to say Challengers right here, because a Charger is a mid sized platform of the classic muscle car style. I agree the others you list would be pony cars. I'd also include Barracudas and Javelins.

I'm actually amazed i've yet to hear of that car, considering the fact that i check the motortrend and hotrod youtube pages religiously for new episodes of RoadKill.
That car looks great and i like the bucket seats in the back, its a unique touch.

Here is my moor-door 73'. 100K junkyard 5.3, Demon 750, dual plane, MSD6010, TSP 224R, SS long tubes. Not really pro-touring yet but on its way. Winter plans include EFI conversion, 3.73s, posi, subframe connectors and hopefully ditch the Cragar 14s in favor of C5 rolling stock in either black or gunmetal.

Seems the rest of the world (Australia, Europe, etc) doesn't share the North American proclivity towards not building anything that isn't a 2 door coupe....

I had forgotten about that car. That article can out when I had my 72 Cornet that something had melded the back doors on. That car is perfect example of a 4 door done beautifully.

Give me some time..I'll make a wicked Nova sedan. But I consider the E55 and M5's to be muscle cars ;-)
