Best source for American Racing wheels

I need a set of Torque Thrust II's in my quest to convert Prostreet 67 Stang to Pro tour car. Anyone have good luck in finding best price/source? Thanks!

I bought my 17x8s brand new from a guy on ebay for $680 shipped with center caps. I think those were the first and only though. You can ask him though. He is letsrace_1 on ebay.

I just bought a pair of 17x11" custom Torque Thrust II Classic wheels for $610 shipped. I didn't think that was too bad.

The guys email address is: [email protected]

You have to mention the 25% off ad (the one I saw was in the back of Muscle Car Enthusiast).

I bought from the same guy. He had the best prices I could find. Thanks for the tip on the 25% off...I may be buying a couple of 18x10s If I can make them fit under a stock 65 A-body!

How about finding another wheel style? There is a building the size of 2 football fields at SEMA filled with wheels and tires. I can't imagine there isn't another wheel that you like.

Okay Andrew, I'll bite. Go ahead and give me the PT lecture. You know, "the suspension, brakes, comfort, reliability and handling" one. I have much more than "installing 17's" to have the car fall into this category. Maybe I (and apparently these other guys) like the TTII's? I'm looking for 18's anyway.... (Mike)

I also bought AR TTII's from Jack at Fast Lane. I have nothing but good things to say. Do not rember exact price but was at least $50 per wheel cheaper than I could find elsewhere. I also had to exchange 2 wheels that had blems on them. No problem and I paid no shipping.

Yea, who said that was all he was doing to his car? Everyone needs to relax on this whole 'what makes a PT car a PT car' thing...it seems to be getting out of hand.

Exactly. I would have told him I also plan glass packs and fuzzt dice in addition to 17" wheels. Now that's a Protouring car. Thanks!

Hmmm... Do I sence sarcasm here? Please describe what you're doing for the change over. We're all intersted. We're just a little tired of the guys putting 17's on the car and calling it done and Pro-Touring is all. What else do you have going on there?

Probably a "no win" for me to respond, but here ya go.

Parts of the project on this former drag car include:
      - Car was tubbed with 6 pt roll cage when I got it
      - Shelby and 2005 Stang F and R accents on 67 Mustang fastback
      - Custom front spoiler ala Ebay/Rad Rides Stang
      - a D1X blow-thru 460 (maybe 800 HP), 8:1 compression (pump gas) with TKO Tranny
      - 5.0 Mustang serpentine belt system with 100 A alternator and 5.0 Stang acc's
      - All Aeromotive fuel delivery and MSD 6 BTM
      - Ramchargers 2-speed electric fan
      - Wiring and hoses hidden in inner fenders, electronics inner firewall mounted
      - Custom ducted cold air inlet from inner fender
      - Silver coated FPA shorties with custom exhaust
      - Fabbed fuel cell enclosure dropped in trunk floor to use factory fuel fill
      - hydraulic T-O clutch
      - Console mount ebrake
      - Custom gauge enclosure on tunnel
      - All Autometer classics replaced all gauges
      - Chrome Hurst shifter with white ball knob
      - Taurus fuse block
      - Mustang II Power R&P/air ride/4-link
      - Lotsa new sheetmetal to replace rust and make all this work
      - Tbolt scoop to clear carb inlet and serpentine belt system
      - Big Wilwoods F&R with Hydroboost (low vacuum on engine forced this or can)
      - Vintage Air/Procar seats/modern stereo (subs, custom rear seat appearing enclosure)
      - Probably 18x 12 and 18 x 8 with P zero
      - Lemme see what else......

      Flame away fellas......

Thanks. Lots of work in progress and what it used to look like. I have a hobby site with both my current project cars at mikesmustangs.net. I'm in the (computer) business, hence the overkill on the site. Check out the 67 and the 2004 (yep it's now 2005) updates.
