4l60 electronic question

hello, i have a question, i have a roller project with a motor in it and no tranny, well i helped a buddy put a zf tranny in his vette and he gave me the 4L60e out of it to put in my roller, the vette is a 94 so it has the 5 prong connector and my roller has the 4 prong on the side of the case, my question is if i dont hook any of the wires up will i have at least 1st gear and reverse, im not looking for anymore then that because im waiting for funds for a t56 but it would be nice to have a car i can drive from one shop to the other across the yard without having to push the thing, im not the greatest at wiring and i dont want to buy a stand alone system to run this thing, it would just be cheaper to buy the correct 700r4 instead of trying to make this tranny work properly not to mention alot less work, any input/ideas would be helpfull, thanks
