      Post Your Manual Disc Brake Set-up's

      Please post pictures and specs of your manual disc conversions, I plan on running C6 calipers on my 1967 firebird, so far I have collected New OEM C6 calipers and pad abutments, Hawk rotors and Hawk HP Plus pads, I still have to order KORE3 hubs and KORE3 caliper mounting brackets. Im asuming aside from adapter brake lines thats all I will need to replace in order for the conversion to work on my manual drum car? I should not have to replace the master cyl to run this set-up im assuming. If I do any advice would be appreciated!

      You need a new prop valve, Disc/disc or disc/drum depending on how you're doing the rear. Your master cylinder might be fine, depending on the bore. I'm unsure how the bore size differs in drum to disc applications.

      Until I have the time to pull the rear end out im keeping the drums, once I get the parts and time to pull the rear out I will be converting to C6 rear brakes. I suppose I could get a disc/drum prop vavle for the time.

      i ran C4 Vette 12" front brakes with the stock drums on my 71 Nova, with a 15/16" bore master cylinder for a 76 Chevelle.. the car was a factory power drum brake car, so i just ditched the booster and put a $35 adjustable prop valve in the rear line after the stock distribution block (which is not a prop valve in 4 wheel drum cars- it's just a place to hook up all the lines and put the brake light switch). it stopped harder and with better brake control than anything i've ever driven once i got the bias dialed in and didn't have too much effort for my 53 year old mom to drive the car without any issues..

      Im running ZO6 front rotors and calipers with this Tilton floor mount triple master cyl brake and clutch pedal assembly. It has an adjustable bias bar so you can change the proportioning as you drive around if traction changes

      I'm running C6 Z06 6 piston calipers 14" rotors front and 4 piston 13" rotors rear with Hawk ceramic pads and a 7/8" manual Wilwood dual master cylinder. I installed all new factory replacement hard lines from Inline Tube and SS flex lines from Speedway Motors. The only part of the original brake system that I reused was the distribution block which is located directly under the MC. I can tell you from personal experience that this brake package is extremely well balanced without the use of a proportioning valve. This brake system is very simple, has a very firm pedal, provides great feedback and will stop on a dime. I contacted Kore3 for a weld-on rear brake caliper mount but I got tired of waiting on them to give me a quote so I fabricated my own bracket. The GMR now sells some very nice C6 Z06 rear brake brackets for a very good price.

      Post Your Manual Disc Brake Set-up's

      I have a set of brembo six piston fronts and four piston rears from a 2011 Cadillac cts-v. I am using the stock cts-v rotors which are 370mm front and 365 rear. I not sure which prop valve I am going to run or if I need one. I am also up in the air on what master I am going to run. I was going to go with the c6 z06 brakes but I pieced the cts-v set up cheaper than the z06 set up.

      Was this recent? I had immediate response and a quote within a 1/2 hour from Tobin.

      So a 7/8 MC moves enough volume for those multiple pistons? What pedal ratio you using?

      And they do look good behind those wheels!

      With that U joint on the sterring you using a rack and pinion setup?

      The 7/8" MC works great with these calipers! I did not change the pedal ratio, I'm using the stock pedal assy. I'm running a DSE subframe with the power rack&pinion hence the need for the steering u-joint off the stock steering column.

      I did notice the snakey U joint!
