      Ducks in the pool!

OK so besides the obvious answers... shotgun, paintball gun, poison.. etc.. what is the best way to get rid of ducks that come into the pool. I have heard of a solar cover, netting, wires, airhorns, fake alligators, fake owls but each one seems to have people who say it works or it doesnt work. So anyone here dealing with this problem? My pool is perfectly balanced now and this couple is pooping on the deck and into the water on a daily basis. I look stupid chasing them off every day only to have them come when Im not home or early in the morning.. An NO I dont have a dog...

We have a blue herron that comes and tries and eat our koi out of our koi pond. At a few $$$ a fish, gourmet sushi will not be provided on my coin. LOL

I ended up putting a netting over the pond. The birds have come back, try and land on the net and do not like it. They have flown off and I have not seen them in a while.

We also have a few hawks around the neighborhood that are plump, but not from eating out of the pond.

Wow, I've never heard of that problem. We have a pool too, I guess I should be thankful we don't have squatters.

ill tempered sea bass with frickin laser beams attached to their frickin heads!!

If you are going to kill em, decently powered BB or pellet gun? If the round hits the water, no need to worry about it traveling farther than a few feet. I get ducks and geese in my pond a lot. Its about 100 yards from my back porch. I have shot a 22 at em before, hitting the water just to the side of the bird. That works pretty well and no harm done. Or I just go walk back there. They will take off before I am closer than 50 feet

I could put my mother in law out there... just the sight of her would scare anything off! Works great on kids around Halloween.

Swan decoy, or several large geese decoys. Ducks fear swans and usually will not land amongst geese in a small area. Also shiny objects, like Mylar strips around the pool, will cause them to flair on landing.

      Hope this helps.
