LS6 T56 into 66 Chevelle... Help

So I jumped full into an LS6 T56 swap with out thinking too much ahead... So yea, Some help would be greatly appreciated! Quick background, its an LS6 outta an 02 vette. The motor looks to have been rebuilt before I bought it. The original heads and pistons looked like they was mint. All gaskets was new too. I swapped the heads for a pair of AFR 210 series (with matching springs for the cam). Changed cam to Comp Cam with .617 .624 lift. New Comp Cam push rods. New Comp Cam Trunion rebuild kit. N a trick flow double roller timing chain. Replaced all the gaskets. All this stuff is installed already. I will post some pics to show where I am at in the swap. Any help/ ideas/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yea, its a carb setup, and I am trying to plan the rest of this swap out. As far as plumbing, what and where I may need wiring. What sensors I can do away with. All the little things that I may not know about. Thanks again in advance for the help. N I have plenty of pics of all the parts if need be.

Also the water pump shown below.. Should I reuse it? Whats the best way to clean it up? Any ideas

Since it is going to be a carbureted setup you will need an MSD ignition box to run the coils. Since the engine is a 2002 you will need the MSD 6010 box for the 24 tooth reluctor wheel. It will need to be plugged into the coil harnesses, the crank sensor behind the starter and the cam sensor in the back. You won't need any other sensors.

Since you have a Corvette water pump, you will need a Corvette balancer, and then you can use the Corvette accessory mount system which works well on a-bodies.

For the fuel system you will need to run an electric fuel pump. I suggest you look into the new Holley billet pumps. Run 3/8" feed line.

Don't forget that you will need to cut a huge hole and enlarge the transmission tunnel to clear the T56. Also, the GTO wheels that are on the car have a 120mm bolt patter. While they are close, I would not run them if your hubs are a 4 3/4" bolt pattern.

What about the map sensor? I seen how to plug it up, seems simple enough. Any suggestions on install? Do I need it?

I have an edelbrock box that came with the set up. As far as I know MSD makes this box. I will attach a pic of the box.

Also I was looking at the water pump and saw 2 plugs, I cant figure out where these would go. Do I need to run these? Or can I just plug em up?

As for the rims.. Their BMW, Just using em to fit the bigger brakes, when the time comes I will go with some 3 piece rims

I forgot the MAP sensor. It needs to be installed in the manifold. Isn't there a place for it? If not, then you need to install a fitting in the manifold and run a vacuum line to the MAP sensor.

The two fittings on the water pump are for the heater. If you are not going to have a heater in the car then you need to run a hose loop between those fittings.

You are also missing the front steam crossover between the heads. The line from that needs to run to the brass fitting at the top of the water pump.

I have 2 maybe potential slots for the map sensor.. I will post pics. Let me know which one would be better. I am thinking the opening on the rear passenger side of the manifold is the designated spot for the map sensor. The fitting with the hose is right under the carb. Can I use this for the map sensor?

I bought a new pump and the new pump does not have that brass fitting... Do I need to tap into that with a new brass fitting? I will attach what I think is a pic of the steam cross over between the heads. When I bought the motor it had two of these, but neither looked like it could hook up to the water pump. Maybe im wrong, not sure but please fill me in. Thanks

You can use either of the places on the manifold for the MAp sensor.

That is the crossover tube that you now installed between the heads. It can be routed to the same place as the other one was, to the upper radiator hose, to the top of the radiator by the radiator hose if a fitting is added, or it can go down on the water pump by the hose that is the bigger of the two. Like this:

Ok I see.. Should I worry about tapping into the water pump? Anything to look out for? Im thinking drill, clean, thread, clean, then screw fitting in. Right? Or wrong? Just take your time drilling. I drilled a small pilot hole and then followed it with the proper size drill bit. You'' have to look up the size that is recommended for the 1/8" NPT tap. Use some grease on the bit and that will trap the shavings and also lubricate as you drill. It's pretty non dramatic.
