Looks like you'll pick up some headroom....those floors are quite a bit lower than stock.

Yeah I picked up alittle room by leveling out the floors.

I looked int that for my Camaro. A fueltank for Opel manta GSI or GTE will fit perfect in that location. Opel is also GM :-) . The filler neck on top need to be cut 10cm or 4" from the tank an rerouted to the q-panel- The tank is mounted behind the rear seat on the Opel so it have the fuel sender in proper position and it have nice mounting flange to the body. For thoserunning EFI the pump will be gravity feed without placing it to low on the frameraills or floor.
The only issue is the weight added above rear axle. approx 50kg/ 100lbs. That is the only reason fornot doing this, The package room it takes up is minimal of the space we use.

I got both tunnels for the exhaust pipe to pass thru mocked up in the car today,now I just have to come off those and finish making the trans tunnel.

I finished making the transmission tunnel today,now all I have to do is run the floor pans thru the bead roller then I can weld everything in the car.

Very nice. I wonder how much head room you will pick up. I am 6'4" and I am going to have to be choosy when it comes to a seat in my Firebird.

THAT is one tall tunnel!

I'm 6'3", with normal 2nd gen seats my head used to be touching the roof lining. I have mid 80's Corvette seats in my 71 mounted to the original sliders....I picked up an extra 1" + of head room so now I'm not touching the roof liner at all....very nice.

Yeah the tunnel is tall,where I built a fullframe under the car the body is channeled down over the frame so I can get the car lower.Plus lowering the floor pans made the transmission sit higher in the car,and I wanted some clearance to.I still need to figure out what seats I am going to use.

I havent had much time lately to work on the firebird,but I did get some time over the weekend to build these A pillar mouldings.It will be awhile before they go in the car but atleast they will be ready.

I started on the rearend and 4 link over the weekend,I had a 9 inch rearend to go in the car but ended up using it on another build.So I tore down the 10 bolt and went thrue it,now I am getting everything mocked up.f.jpg[/IMG

I know its been awhile since I posted any updates havent had much extra time the last couple months to work on the car,I hope to get back on it some this month.I did start to mock up the engine today so I can get the firewall finished up,I also ordered my motor mounts today so I will have to wait for them to get here before anything gets bolted up.My main things I want to focus on getting finished next is getting the engine bolted in and set back where I want it so I can finish building the firewall,getting the upper bar mounts built for the rear 4 link and building the exhaust system.[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]
