    Thread: Final Decision!

    Hybrid View

    1. Hey,

Now that Ive asked a few things to the GT and GT40 owners on that site... it seems theres another OPTION...

Since carbon fibre body, light weight, power is what I want...

      They suggested a GT40 Replica.

They told me the GT40 Replica will give u the 60s Lemans driving experience, I can select my own engine/chasis etc, probbably cost me 150 000 to build what to me would be the ultimate supercar.

700 HP in a GT40 that weighs 2300lbs, would be scary fast.

      THe 2005-2006 GT weighs 3600lbs, costs 170 000 to get, to then modify to lower weight etc is gonna cost 300 000, for 150 000 I coulda had a 700hp 2300lbs GT40.

They also said the GT40 will be a better car for the money aswell. Not to mention the GT40 consists of a 95" wheelbase vs the 104.6" wheelbase of the New GT... making it much better around tight corners aswell.

So perhaps thats the best thing for me. Cheaper, acquire it sooner and do everything Im after and resemble the legendary GT40

      GTM Supercar

Another option you may want to consider is the GTM Supercar...

Horsepower TV did a couple of shows on the Factory Five's GTM. Don't know much about it, but seems to have the look you are after and a quick search on the web yields some pretty good reviews of performance/handling. If you're a GM guy like me, this would be the better route since it is uses an LS motor.
