LSx Engine Build & Install Help Needed

I'm going to build a 1950 Chevy 3 Window truck with an LS/t56 combo. My goal is atleast 500 rwhp. What is it going to take in engine mods to accomplish this goal?

Am I better off starting with a truck motor or 6.0l to accomplish this since I assume I'd be replacing many of the stock parts I'd be paying extra for by buying an LS1 anyways?

Is this possible using the stock bottom end parts? Or am I looking at having to go with a stroker kit?

Also, this is my first dealings with the LS engines, it was initially going to be a BBC project. What else will I need to do this install? And on suggestions on places to get these items is apprecaited...

      Fuel Tank
      Wiring Harness/ECM
      Anything special with the radiator?
Accessories..AC Unit, alt, etc...if I go with a truck motor will they work or will I need to adapt
      to LS1 acessories?

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks guys!

Check this out if you want 500hp on a budget 6.0. Theirs was an iron head, a later aluminum head LQ4 or 9 would do better.

To make 500 to the wheels is a bit different than 500hp at the crank. Not too difficult to make 500hp on a 6.0 truck motor, as link above shows. I would think you'd need to make close to 600hp to put 500 to the wheels. Probably very good set of heads & decent size cam. Supercharger would be the best option in my opinion, keep it much more streetable. Rick's tanks should have a tank that would work. I'm not familiar with how much room there is in motor mount/frame area on a 50 pickup, but it would seem like you could use the truck acc, + the stock ecm & harness. I have no clue on the rad, might to to make one work. Shouldn't be too hard. Like to see pics of this build. Scott
