Just so I am following what you did, on the portion on the frame you sectioned you moved it inwards to clear the tires? You do have any better overall pictures to show the complete seciton now that it's complete? I saw somewhere that it was 2.5". Is that per side? Thanks! Build looks awesome!

? when you narrowed the crossmember, were you still able to use the stock arms? or was that the reason for the new upper a arm mount for the 9 in.I was thinking about doing the same thing, but was worried about the a arm geometry.

Hi Tom, Just stumbled across your build. Amazing work and is pushing me to work harder on mine. No LS yet but i'm slowly acquiring parts. Any recent updates? Here's my ride. Owned it since '94 and this is my 3rd '78 Malibu 2dr :D

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Not the least of which is that we're in the process of moving and planning a new shop building (to be built soon hopefully). In the mean time the Chili Pepper is safe and sound and safely tucked away.

Yes - our arms are stock geometry although we picked up a set of DSE SWIVEL-LINK arms (which reduce suspension bind). The upper links are in the stock position and the lower links are moved in 2.5" per side. We first saw Mark Stielow do this on Malitude (a 64 Malibu).

Cool Malibu! We're in transition at the moment from a shop standpoint but hopefully we'll get back on it soon.

Awesome project. I just became owner of an 82 Malibu 4 door that I start a build thread on when I get it home.
