      New blower kit video

We are working on the new website and it will feature some cool media files. Your constructive criticism is most welcome.

This is a video clip of the new Weiand 142 blower kit for small block chevy engines that have Vortec (L31) style cylinder heads.

Looks great. What kinda numbers it make? Oh, and the "Cat in the Hat" air cleaner should be a popular item as well.

I just put the 142 on my car about 6 months ago. Stock it makes about 5-6 lbs of boost. I just changed the upper pulley to a 2.5" and it makes 10-12 lbs. Very happy with it.

BTW, Almost no one sells it and the ones that do sell it for 2 grand, but if you go by any Advanced Discount Auto Parts they sell it for 1400 shipped to your door.

They make a 142, 144, 172 (I think) and 177. The numbers indicate the amount of cubic inches it increases your engine with stock pulleys.

I will post a power graph shortly. I am waiting for the official numbers from the lab. The engine is very mild. Stock L31 short block, stock iron Vortec (L31 heads), mild Lunati hydraulic roller cam, 750 Holley blower carb.
What I do remember is that it made over 400 ft-lb of torque EVERYWHERE! It was pulled all the way down to 2300RPM. Peak torque was in the 480 ft-lb range at about 3600RPM. Max boost was about 6psi.

      Sweet little engine.

      P.S. We offer 142, 144, 174, 177, 250, 256, 6-71 and 8-71 superchargers.

My friend has a 4-71 weiand on his very mild 350 in a 67 Camaro. Car ran great with the blower on it at 5psi. He's sence torn the engine down and built a stout motor with the same blower at 7psi. Very high quality blower. I would look at going this route in a heartbeat with a SBC.
