The holiday weekend was fun for the family but that means little work on my project. I did pull the rearend out with the leaf springs and Caltracs bars. I am leaning towards taking 5" out of the rearend. Which with everything I have learned so far that will actually be 4 1/4" because of the Currie bolt in 9" and disc brakes with internal parking brake pushed everything out 3/8" per side... I'm trying to get my wiring decision made this week and have that beginning next week while the rearend is getting narrowed. I am thinking of going with eithe r18x12 or 19x12 as I have talked to a couple others and that seems to give me a little more room in the fenderwells b/c I want it as low as I can get it.... From what I can tell it should be a 18x12 with 5.5" bs... Now I say I think, b/c I am doing this in my head and will be abkle to confirm it once I get the rearend back. and in the car with the G-link done. If someone can help with my thinking I would appreciate it. What are your combo's on what you narrowed your rearend and what bs you are running as well. I know on 18x8 with 4.5 bs, on this rearend (non-shortened yet) in my car with this rear brake combo I was rubbing the outer fenderwell, hence the extra 1" backspacing should help correct with the 3/8 per side shift..... I think.

Hey all, I'm back on the map, well I hope. New sig tells all that's been going on the last yr or so. Funny I looked back and my last post here was the last yr before my life got spun n what I thought really wasn't. But my car has been just sitting for awhile now and Im hoping to get it going shortly now. So I hope updates will be coming more frequently. We will see

Got my C6Z06 brakes on up front!!! Now really trying to find a motor bad!! I got a plasma cutter for Christmas and gonna try the mini tub in the garage myself!! Anybody up for stopping by with tips or tricks let me know!!

Ideally gonna relocate the stock rear fender wells inward about 2" as I've read a couple posts from others that minitubbed and not notched frame and still ran 315's on I think 11". Shocks and rear sprigs relocated inward also!

i love your car ! honestly if it were me, i would have left the bbc in it, they are one of the best sounding engines there is. i bet that car was a beast ! LS platforms make good power but they lack that great muscle car sound. i like the new brakes and for wheels i would go with something dark centers/ polished lips. beautiful camaro !

I just recently finished up a mini tub on my '69 Nova. I used the DSE tub kit which made it much easier imo. I didn't have to worry about saving the inner tubs to move them inward or take the time to drill out all the spot welds along the factory tub flanges.

I borrowed a friends plasma cutter which will save you loads of time cutting - so its great that you have one now. I notched my frame which wasn't too hard to do, but I though the same thing afterwards, that 315's would probably still fit with stock frame rails.

I ordered just the DSE tubs without the leaf spring relocation kit because I already have a Chassisworks G-Link in the car, and I waited until Classic Industries had a free shipping offer as the DSE tubs are discount exempt.

Here's a couple of pics from when I did mine:
