I think so, but I can't say for sure. I would google SBF and LSx dimensions and compare.

I don't think there is any problem. You won't have tons of room, but it's not as tight as a highport CHI headed 351C. You will need custom made headers.

Sounds like a cool way to go. There is a guy on corner carvers that did a really nice job with an ls7 into a 65. Worth a look.

      Good luck

You might want to see this:
      http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conver...id-starts.html

He did no cutting, just a specific set of engine mounts and it bolted right in. 65 might make it a little harder though.

Checking into those motor mounts now ace thanks for the link man....and 2blown that was my original plan but then I would really have to knock out the shock towers cuz the 4.6 is 33in wide as compared to the ls2's 26in and I can pull way more horsepower from the ls2 for way cheaper than the 4.6 ever could im a ford enthusiast but I just cant seem to put down these ls motors

Yeah sorry about the thread revival, but I wanted to add something here for those that are looking. the mounts he used are Progressive automotive mounts:
      http://www.progressiveautomotive.com/motor.htm
I noticed he'd posted that up in this thread:
      http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...-6-0-swap.html
From what I recall (the email addy I talked to him on is since lost) Those mounts bolted right on to his 67 mounts, then he just needed to work out a tranny mount.

it'll fit. if you mod the mounts right and use the GTO oil pan you can run mostly stock front end parts. I've got a CPP mini kit on my '67 and plan to keep the rear steer and just run a front sump pan. i have a little more shock tower spread but my old '65 had a 351 and big tube headers and the LS1 isn't any bigger. as for swap headers just do what the fox body guys have done for years and mod 351 headers w/ ls1 flanges.
