Very sorry to hear about your mother......lost mine to pancreatic cancer in 89....from diagnosis to the end...3 months. Best wishes to her for the strength to enjoy the time with her family.
      .
      my own list....hmmm,
      1. Already flown aircraft, including old school twin radial powered C7A's at low level and dodging around cloud formations ...now that is a real buzz...thank you airforce for the opportunity! ......Tick!
      2. Sailed good sized yachts in open waters...if you haven't done this, try it...its something special to stand at the helm of a 40 odd foot yacht, running down the swells with nothing but wind and wave moving you just the way men have been doing for a thousand years. Timeless! .......Tick!
      3. Would love to break 200mph on the salt.....Bonneville would be nice, but Lake Gardiner here in Australia is bigger and has a yearly speed event - so thats one to do.
      4. Finish my resto on the 71 Firebird.....well on the way towards that one.
Can't think of any more at the moment......two down, two to go.....

      Regards,
      Leigh

My list is pretty short too... just 2 things...

      1. Make bucket list and complete everything on it, or die trying.
      2. Repeat.

      1. Make sure I take time out to enjoy the life I have
      2. Provide more opportunities in life for my sons than I had
      3. Finish an Ironman(already done the half and numerous sprints)
      4. Run a 19+ minute 5k(still need to shave :50/mile) and break 1 hour 10min in the sprint triathlon(less than 3 minutes away)
      5. See Paul Scholes play in Old Trafford before he retires. If you don't know who he is Google him. One of the few pro athletes who has his priorities straight. He will be remembered forever along with Ryan Giggs for his time at Manchester United.
      6. Attend the Monaco GP and Daytona 500
      7. Finish and enjoy my car with my family(getting there; plumbing, wiring and paint)
      8. Finish School
      9. Buy a motorhome to take the kids up to Clemson football games in the fall to tailgate.

Honestly though, I've lived a pretty full life up until now, so I couldn't complain if none of these were to happen. I do like the idea of my wife having to change my diaper when I'm older. Or maybe turning the table on my kids and making them do it.

Here are the main items, in no particular order:

      1) See the world (working on it - Spain, Australia/New Zealand and South Africa are still on the list)
      2) Live on the water (check)
      3) Own my own company (check)
      4) Attend the Daytona 500, Indy 500 and Monaco GP (check)
      5) Build an engine from scratch and dyno it (in progress)
      6) Jump out of a plane (check)
      7) Go 200 mph in a streetcar (planning a standing mile event next year)
      8) Race at Daytona (check, with a podium finish)
      9) Race at Road America and Watkins Glenn (no current plans)
      10) Attend SEMA (just got back)

A few more for good measure...

      11) Bleach my hair blond before there's nothing left (did it 2 weeks ago)
      12) Make sure my true friends and family know how much they mean to me (tougher than it sounds)
      13) Learn not to sweat the small stuff (working on it)
      14) Learn to weld (nothing planned yet)
      15) Learn to dance (ok this is really for the wife, but it's still on the list)
      16) Live in NYC/Manhatten for at least 3 months (no current plan)

After experiencing a significant health challenge last year at only 40 years of age, my key learning and advice is to NOT WAIT to do the things that make you happy. Make it happen.

I'm working hard on my list every day. I died a couple of years ago but fortunately for me, I didnt stay that way. This pushed the list to the forefront rather than just being dreams to get to someday.

So, these arent dreams, this is more of a serious to do list

1: Find my dream girl and start a family and be the best dad possible (ongoing)
2: do something big to help the environment/society (still thinking)
3: build my dream car - working on it as we speak
4: ride my motorcycles all over the world
5: retire early to help, not just watch my kids grow
      6: go into space
7: make my dad proud, really proud (not just with grand kids)
      8: have a workshop I'm satisfied with
9: Attend an F1 race. Planning for Montreal next year
10: Learn to REALLY drive my car

      2. Live long enough to watch my kids growup happy and have kids of their own.
      3. Maintain our quality of life and retire by 55.

      In no particular order:

      1. Drive my Chevelle at Bonneville
      2. Attend a David Letterman Show in person
      3. Go to Antarctica (check) still working on getting to the South Pole thought
      4. Be a Fire Chief (check)
      5. Build a dream shop and have time to enjoy it (started, bougth the property and building last week)
      6. Hike the John Muir Trail
      7. Drive an open wheeled race car on a road course (check, Formula Ford in NZ)
      8. Write a book.
      9. Build a '63 Impala for my father to enjoy.
      10. Not have to work a 9 to 5 job (check)

Please note that these change about every 20 minutes. And notice that I didn't even mention anything about watching the Bills win a Super Bowl or the Sabres win a Stanely Cup. I have to be realistic.
