      DropOuts LS2 vs Ls3

Wondering what the thoughts are about LS2 vs LS3 dropouts for use in a early camaro. Specifically I have two options. An ls2 out of a 05/06 GTO for 6-7 K or a LS3 out of an 010 Camaro for 7-9 K

Both options include a T56.. but I want to understand if i should save the 2k I would save by going with the LS2 ..Or am I giving up something major?

If you only want mid 400HP, the LS2 is fine. The heads on the LS3 are WAY better. Your giving up almost a potential 100HP with the LS2. Heads and intake would be about $1200 or so if you added them to the LS2

Thanks Frank... and for What its worth.... I am reviewing options and once I narrow it down will throw in one of your crate options.... believe i saw a 585 HP crate offering of yours recently that looked like a steal..... I will be PM ing you shortly I want to work with you on some ideas I have. A trip to your neighborhood the 2nd week in January is in my forecast (going to see family) and it just so happens to allign timewise with my year end bonus + tax return...... :-)

The crate motor and trans combo all new will be more money then a drop out. Yeah with the 585HP unit your getting forged internals and a better trans, but if you only staying 550HP or less power the drop out LS3 with a cam and spring change will be just fine.

See ya in January, bring beer!
