Wow that's pretty awesome. And i have an old YJ....hmmm. Though i suspect Ca would have a fit if i did a diesel conversion...even if it quadruples the mpg. lol

Plenty of people have dropped in LS conversions in California and have gotten exemptions. I think that as long as the engine is newer than the chassis and you retain all of the emission control devices that were on the engine, you can get an CARB pass through a referee, or some such thing...Or just move...LOL

As for the Hemi, well, yea that would be OK, or a LSx, or whatever. I just like the diesel because it'll significantly extend the range and have good low end torque, which I assume 4x4s need.

i have a 2000 Wrangler i picked up..still waiting on getting title from previous owners though..has a bad engine ..but stole it at 600 bucks..has 400 in new tires..can't wait to get title and throw a engine in it..

I built this one for a buddy last year. '95 LT1 + NV4500 5-speed + V6 NP231 - all stock parts, no adapters needed. Darrin, PM me if you want any info. I think it's an excellent swap.

i bought a 09 sahara 2dr about 6mos ago. drives suprisingly well and very easy to drive. very tight turning radius. my wife uses it as her dd. likes it alot better than our acura tl for some reason.
