      Collector Car Insurance Opinions

I know this has been covered already, but it's important enough to revisit. I just spoke with Hagerty, Heakock, and Grundy insurance to get a quote for an agreed value policy for my Grand Am. Out of the three company's, Heakock was by far the most professional and informative. One of the companies was very unprofessional and acted as if what I was asking was not very important. I would like to hear from anyone who has Heakock Insurance to give me some feedback on any claims they have had with them and how they were treated. Heakock was also less than Hagerty with a quote of $373.00 annually.

I hear that Heakock is the most liberal as far as modifications and coverage while at the track. No coverage on the track while actually racing, but in the pits, parking lot etc. They all seem reputable and handle claims well. Full disclosure, I have Grundy.

I've been looking to change too and out of all three listed (with the same coverage), Grundy was far less money. Anyone have any experience with Grundy, good or bad?

I use MK insurance. They are awesome.

I have an agreed policy... Hagerty denied me insurance because of "to many body mods" and "To much horsepower". Well... they would only insure it if it were inside and NEVER driven...haha. Only transported in a covered carrier.

The ladies at MK were a blast to work with... and even allow me to "drive" the car...haha.

I sent for a quote request, so we'll see how they stack up.

talked to MK Insurance today... they have nice coverage and rates but they told me that NO ONE offers true coverage any timed track events, which I told her I thought otherwise and have read about from many people on these forums, including Steve Rupp. I found that odd...

Josh, have you done any AutoX or road course events? Do you plan to?

I have Grundy and unfortunately had to make a pretty big claim....and they have been fantastic...no hassles, no back and forth on $$.... I sent them the estimates and they sent me a check...no questions asked.

I had Progressive run a quote today on my 84 Monte Carlo, the vin shows it as a 5.0L car. Anywho, for liability alone they want $100 every 6mos, and that's at 'stock' value. Putting a declared value of $8000 on it for full coverage bumped it to $700 a year.

I'm 24 with a clean record, I'll have to look into these other companies....

Out of all I've checked with, Grundy is the lowest by far without compromising coverage.
