If that what I looks like on it first time to the track. All I can say is that's impressive. That shoebox is really movin'. Y'all get them cars workin'. It sounds great too.

Oh well, thought I would try. It would be cool for you to get an aluminum small block in the '67. Although, if you throw Hoosiers on it that should be good for 3 seconds or better.

Anyhow, I'm done for this season unless I hit the lotto. Lookin' forward to next season. The plan is to head to the east coast and lay down some track times out there to see how my car compares to the other PT cars. Still searching for the ultimate set up for my car and I wont make any changes until I find someone faster with a different set up. You know what they say, proof's on the asphalt. Congrat's on the 2:01's in your T1 Vette, that haulin' balls!!

Hmm......East Coast road trip from road course to road course. Wonder if we could get a televised sponsorship?

I was working in North Sac yesterday and turns out I will be inspecting some site work at McNally Racing. I went into his shop and he had about 25 Winston West cars in there. Full blown shop with engines and everything else stocked throughout the shop. I had the hardest time leaving. He was busy on a sale at the time so unfortunately I didn't have a chance to talk to him. Might try and talk him into letting try out as a driver for him. Yeah, I know, good luck right? Can't hurt to ask.

Don't forget about Run to the Coast, March 4th - 6th. Better start practicing on 200 treadwear!

Jimi Day offered to pay my entry fees if I represented him there but I turned it down. Basically told him I'm not a cone dodger. Sorry Jimi, didn't mean to offend you, all I wanted was to get on the road course with the big dogs at optima but he couldn't accomodate me. He said I needed a manufacturer to sponser me.

Besides, I'm pretty sure Parrott and Stielow are either running R1's, R888's, or Hoosier's when they're playing on the road course.

I hear ya about the cones...after being on a track, I don't have the urgency to auto-x as much. They will have a mock road course for one of the events though. I'm looking forward to going flat out on a runway; infinite tarmac runoff so you can get real ballsy with the racing line.

...and I'm sure Dream Speed would love to have you there and it qualifies you for optima. You may even pick up more sponsors. Your car has plenty more real-estate.

Wait ti'll you start using R888's.......You'll never wanna run 200 tread wear again. We need to start a PT time trial series like those guys on the east coast are. Eventually I think guys will get more confident and start running road courses more often. At least thats what I'm hoping.

as far as the car goes we need to get the fuel cap issue fixed. that shouldn't be too hard.
I really think new rubber will make a big differance. the 10 year old kumos did great for a free set but modern rubber has made leaps and bounds!
we are thinking about dropping the ride height a little? and from there i need to get better at driving and picking lines!!!!
Heat was a little bit of an issue in the later part of the day and our original plan was to run it and see what the worst case would be. We found out and it got hot in the cab, hot enough to melt shoes to the fire wall..... so exhaust system will get coated and heat shields will be made.

im guessing the car will be down for a little while to get this all done. some more work would be nice too so we can pay for all this lol

LOL, I hear ya, it helps to have greenbacks. I've done 6 events since June(Including Spectre341Challenge) along with tuning and making changes after each event. If it wasn't for the Dream Speed guy's I wouldn't have been able to do it but even with the HUGE support from those guys it's time to turn off the tap other wise soon I'll be living in my car trailor, LOL.

That would be sweet, I'm actually finishing up my sponsorship packages now for my 2011 racing; would be sweet to get some decent coin from that and throw in extra "tv" type coverage.

Shop here in Modesto that does a lot of my work is an ex-winston west shop. Through them, I have alignment setting connections in NASCAR for nearly every track (yes including our smaller not "pro" used tracks here in ca :D ). Winston West and Nationwide series' are actually pretty affordable to run. I don't know what will change price wise as they will have new cars next year, but Nationwide cars go for 35k with spares and in good condition. You just need tires, a hauler (they don't like our small haulers, they want to see a full rig..you can get them at auction for cheap-ish), and i believe race entry is sub 1000, but pay out covers a lot of consumables assuming you stay out of trouble in your track sessions
