That sounds awesome to me! I will now have to decide which is the one I like the best, I have several now that have different qualities to them but I remember one of them was a lot better at the acceleration speed than the rest.

I am trying to get the file from the laptop to an email and it doesn't want to copy out to a file into any other place.
How are you getting the files from the accel files area to copy into email?

I have sent you an email.

I am looking forward to getting a good starting baseline.

I am running the 6.1.5 version. It does a lot more than what the 2.1.3 ever did ans it is taking me a bit to reinterpret terms again for the new version.

      Thanks again for the help.

Your.ecm files should be in the global calibrations folder inside the main DFI folder. Find the file you like and right click on it to send to a mail recipient.

I will try that again and see if it works. I forget what the prompt was but I will write it down next time. I can also just go through the serial port instead of the usb in case it is the adapter not making the file a good one.

Thanks again and I will get it to you if I have to drag my desktop out to the garage, lol

You don't want to be in the DFI program. It should be closed. Just use windows. Find the Calmap folder, then inside of that will be the global calibrations folder, inside of that will be the .ecm files. If your laptop is on the internet that's when you can right click and send as above. If not copy and paste to the flash drive and send from a desktop.

If none of this works, just send me here or via email (I got the last one) basic parameters for your combo. CID, distributor type, injector flow rate, etc. Do you have a wideband O2?
It would still help to know some of the VE values that are good for you so we can blend from there.

Thanks for the help. I am going to go buy me a usb memory stick to hold all of my programs for future use in case something happens to my laptop. I think it will help with doing everything.

I am installing the wideband this week and am about halfway through with it. I am reading the instructions and learning how much the datalogger can do and finding out how much of it I will use. The wiring of the whole thing is completely dependent on what info goes where and I am hoping it will work with my Racepak USM modules to interface a gauge for my A/F ratio. I do believe the 0-5volt wire will do the job.

If I can't get you a file I will send all the info I can.

      Thanks again, Jim

      Hey Jim,

Good to see things are coming along for ya. Rob is definitely a big help for sure. I know you were talking about trying to get the car down my way to see what we can do. Just let me know.

I could also come up that way if we can set things up.

      Talk to you soon.

I have hopefully figured out how to move my files around from the DFI ecu and if it wasn't for a usb memory card it wasn't working at all. It seems the card doesn't care if it is readable it just copies it and to get it to the ecu you have to have the Accel dfi program opened and load it and it works.

To explain it is confusing but it is straight forward once you get it.

I feel like I am back in school learning about computers. Even my own brother who thinks he knows a lot couldn't get the files to go where they should. He did say too that the usb memory card might be the ticket and he was right.

So another day of progress and if all things go well I will have a baseline to work from and go back to when I try things that go backwards.

At least I will know that when I go to get it tuned for money it will be money well spent for the time involved and it won't be like starting from a fresh start that has no baseline.

      Rob you have mail !!!

Mike, it is always good to talk to you I have used the tips you have given me to get to where I am at and the car runs way better because of it.

I saw the weather and I saw above freezing temps coming so spring has to be coming and I can hardly wait.

Thankyou very much, I got the program. The little usb memory card is a blessing and it now contains all my programs and works with everything so I am very happy.

I looked at it and can tell it will be much better.

I am going to get the wideband in and test it out if I can wait that long. It is just a hego sensor and connector change back to check it out.

I will get a program out with some good notes to go by and you can go from there.

      Thanks a bunch. Jim

I have the wideband in and it wasn't too bad to install and having two switches in the car that were not being used came in handy because now they are data recording switches for the new controller/data logger that comes with it.

I put the program in from Rob and it is a lot closer to where it has to go. This engine really likes a lot of timing it seems and the a/f ratio needs to be fat . Updates are coming.
      Thanks Rob.

Warm weather is coming. Real road tuning will tell a bigger story as to how close it is.

I have been trying to get the tune on this engine to work and it really doesn't like the Rhoads lifters it seems afterall. I picked up a bunch of vacuum but it messes with the ve table differently on the pumping up and on the way back down it is different too.

I have ordered up a new cam and lifters and should have it by next week sometime. I believe it is just the smartest thing to do overall to get the best all around performance I am looking for. If I want to get lots more power I will get an LS1.

It should be easier to tune the new cam too. I will know all of the specs and there should be others who will have something closer to the same program. Who knows? maybe the out of the box program from accel will be a good start or the program from Rob at FFI will be good? Either way it has to have a better low end than the one I have.

      Thanks Jody,

I have a big question that is bothering me about the ignition.

When you are in the diagnostics page and you look at your cam and crank lights. Do they go to complete red and blue solid color when you rev the engine up and blink at lower rpm or do they just randomly flash. I didn't really get a good answer from Accel.
Mine will blink at the crank a lot but not consistent to rpm and the cam light only flashes once in awhile at random and is mostly white.

I still wonder if the dual sync dis is really working with the ecu correctly. I can go to high rpm slowly on the pedal and it will go without a lean popping sound. But rapid on the pedal it is either lean or a timing problem and I have enriched the system without much change to stop it. I can still hear a small fluter reving slowly up.

I have been blaming myself for not knowing what to do as I learn but I can tell what changes I am making when the engine is running and some of the changes to the ATU page and throttle follower really don't stop the sound that occurs.

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

At least it's been nice out and I can drive the car a bit to check it out or it would really be making me crazy.

Bringing this to the top so it can be added to for all the other guys needing info.

Maybe this could become a sticky?

My tune is coming along better each time I go at it but it has a long way to go be as good as it can get. WOT is real good and the driveability is getting better but there are stil a few things that I am having trouble finding how to get to where I want it.
