      New Engine...ZZ383.

Has anyone seen this new engine available through GM Performance Parts? I don't remember seeing it the last time I checked their product lineup last Summer. This must be a new engine they're offering. $4800 for a 383 crate motor running 425 horse and 460 ft lbs of torque. That's not bad at all. And it has a 4340 crank, aluminum heads and hydraulic roller camshaft.

      Check it out!

I have one in my shop just waiting to be installed. I still have a lot of chassis work to do, so it will be mid to late summer before I get it all together. In all my researching I decided on this engine because it seems to have all the good parts and should make a strong yet reliable engine for what I want. I can't justify all the time and $$$$$ to have a car that you can only occasionally drive, and only short distances at that. If I decide to take a trip to the "sunny south" (I live in Washington), then I don't want to have to worry about using AAA to tow me someplace to patch it together again. It may not be 700+ hp, but it will fry the 315/35/17's plenty good. Actually I hope the tires hook up and fold my head around the back of the seat. Well, not likely, huh. But I plan on a 750 dbl. pump to start with (have one) and FI later. And yes, it is new.

imho that is the most impressive crate motor from gm right now. when you consider hp/dollar and hp/cid.

I just saw it over at the Sallee-Chevrolet website the other day. I thought it looked like a nice package.
